1. Japan: Always my goal to go there, albeit this was a study abroad, but I also got to do a ton of stuff as well.
2. HK/Philippines: Saw family and a great city
3. Seattle/BC: Family and nature. Olympic NP is one of the best NPs
Honorable mention : AZ/GrandCanyon this past may, S. California for the Rose Bowl (although I've been to LA before)

At 10 I planned the family vacation from Weekly Reader. For some reason I've never understood my father bit off on it. I suspect my mother had a lot to do with that.
Vicksburg. Cannons. Cool.
Charleston. Antebellum homes my mother wanted to see. Not on my itinerary, but broke up a long drive.
Monticello.
DC. Mostly the Smithsonians and all the famous memorials.
Philadelphia. Liberty Bell, Independence Hall.
NYC. Empire State building, Statue of Liberty.
Montreal, Expo 67 World's Fair.
The most offbeat destination: Fort Henry, Canada. David the Goat mascot. Changing of the guard similar to Buckingham Palace.
Niagara Falls. First real exposure to political nonsense. Alexei Kosygin (Russian premier) was visiting for the day and the place shut down while he was there. Thousands of tourists waited in the parking lot to get in. On TV that night the local news talked about the thousands who had gathered to see Kosygin. Umm... no.
Still not sure how I pulled this off. There will never be another like it.
ETA: Oops, forgot Monticello.

Jamaica--it was my honeymoon and we watched the Egg Bowl at the outdoor bar.
Nassau--been numerous times because my parents have a time share there (it's nothing fancy). I love that place.
Tucson, AZ--stayed at White Stallion Ranch, and got to pen cattle and go on trail rides.

Hawaii
Breckinridge Colorado
And a seven day cruise around the Caribbean
I've been to a lot of places but I had the most fun and best memories from these three.

Zermatt, Switzerland ... been many times. Going back next February.
Sun Valley, Idaho ... we've got close friends in Ketchum so we fly out there every couple of years.
