William Faulkner alone makes me admire Ole Miss

I don't think about Ole Miss enough to hate them. Pity them a little maybe.

Flaunt illegal recruiting, the name ole, and your name change of your team.

I don't think anyone cares about Ole Miss

I love Ole Miss because their fans have true southern hospitality. It seems to be dying in some places in the south.
I also love the pageantry of the grove

Don't necessarily hate the school, just can't stand a lot of their fans. Unless you grew up in Mississippi you wouldn't quite understand, either. Some of the worst people I've ever known and that includes a relative or two. All they do is bullshite all the time about this and that, ex: "I have a house in the French Riviera" and "my dad banged Miss America when he was at Ole Miss".."my dad is getting a Gulfstream G-650..lol "I had a threesome with 2 LSU Chi O's on the balcony of my condo in Destin last wknd.. blah blah. I've heard this type of bullshite all my adult life and when you get a bunch of old gray haired OM lounge lizards bunched together, it will really make you want to hurl!

I know state fans that way too. I know awesome state fans. I know awesome ole miss fans. Each fanbase has about the same amount of bad apples

Cheeseburgers, fat people, welfare, and mediocrity? Oh, wait, thats just what Mississippi stands for.
Cheeseburgers in Mississippi pretty much suck. Almost every option is a fast food chain (and they are shitty ones like Wendys, not InNOut), or they have overpriced "gourmet" burgers at restaurants with COMPLETELY unspecial beef or buns.
The best burger I have eaten there meat quality wise is Back Yard Burger, which has angus that is still two or three steps below my "backup" burger place here in Austin (and their fries are TERRIBLE). If you want to step it up past angus (like some real grass fed, organic, non-hormone injected locally sourced beef) then you are screwed in the state of Mississippi.
The closest thing to a decent "burger" place in the entire state is Ward's, and that is because of the root beer not the chilli burgers. I am a huge burger fan but everytime I go there to visit I basically live on Popeyes because I can't stand what passes for a "burger" in that state.

Mississippi just officially ratified the 13th amendment banning slavery in February 2013. Why wouldn't black athletes flock to your institutions? Thanks for treating the coloreds so well, sah.

Lots of good burger places in the state bro. Plenty in the Jackson area.

No hate. In fact, I'd love to see Sunshine Bo Wallace shock the world and win the West. It'd be a great story.

I have been to a LOT of places in the Jackson metro that Mississippi folks told me were "good burgers" that were still far below my standard. Same old shitty meat just cooked different (aka more grease than the last place) or with a different bun.
I will admit I haven't been there in about two years so something could be new. I am going later this year so if you know of a place that offers burgers in Jackson with organic, grass fed local beef I will try it out.

Beautiful campus and women but pretentious people who believe that hanging a chandelier from a tent pole is synonymous with class and elegance and that their signature accomplishment in life, graduating from the University of Mississippi, somehow equates to an unqualified proof of worth. In other words, assholes.
