If only we had a soccer board... If you do not pull for America, then go somewhere else. The World Cup is great and brings out folks to watch.

What may be even more interesting is that Tuesday's game, which Belgium won 2-1 in extra time to eliminate the U.S., also outdrew all but two college football games from the 2013 season.

The BCS championship game between Florida State and Auburn was the top-drawing college football game of the season at 14.8, according to sportsmediawatch.com. The only other 2013 college football game with a better rating that U.S.-Belgium was the Rose Bowl game between Stanford and Michigan State (10.2).

ALSO: Even thought played during the day, Tuesday’s knockout game exceeded the average viewership for the most recent World Series and NBA Finals, events that took place during prime-time when more people were home to watch.

“Soccer is breaking through and gets its deserved recognition without taking anything away from the other big American sports,”

If you think we have it bad in that regard, I'd imagine the Europeans, S. Americans, etc. have it much worse. The hatred between their various soccer clubs is 10x worse than the hatred that SEC football programs have for each other, yet every four years, they're on the same team. frick. That.

My reason is simple…

Now that the US team has been eliminated from the 2014 World Cup I need your help. You are aware that there are two things in this life I cannot stand.

1. People who are intolerent of other people.

and

2. The Dutch.

So join with me as we all now are from Costa Rica. "Pura Vida" Costa Rica over The Netherlands. Saturday 4 p.m. ESPN.

Why would you hate the people who created your job and helped you get out of your former swamp of a state?

I'm glad it's over so I don't have to hear about soccer for the next 4 years. I don't think most Americans even know they play soccer every year.

Soccer reminds me of a Frank Howard quote about not subsidizing the rowing team because Clemson would never subsidize a sport where the athletes sit on their arse and go backward. Soccer belongs in the same genre.

Did you just compare soccer to rowing?
