By you saying "well yall never beat AU when we were good", you're basically saying that yall have sucked the majority of Richt's tenure.
Learn to read. I said that UGA only beat one AU team that had superior talent. For the most part the difference in talent is less critical than the difference in coaching. The better talented team usually wins in the UGA-AU series.

How often does UGA go into Alabama and get a Top 10 Recruit ?
Why would we waste the time and effort?

That is what other schools should be saying about recruits in Georgia.

Irons Puppet, that's just stupid.

UGA should be able to hand pick the in-state talent. Nobody is saying they are not getting the talent, they are just not getting what you would expect from the State University without any in-state competition.
I agreed that we should probably do a little bit better with in-state talent, but I don't think you understand how recruiting works. The relationships that high school coaches have with the coaches at each university is huge. Auburn is about 30 minutes from West Georgia and Florida State is so close to powerhouses like Lowndes it is hard to get some of the talent out of the south. Clemson is able to get into areas like Gainesville and come out with a Deshaun Watson because it is only a 75 minute drive. Norcross and Alabama have had a pipeline for years now. Other universities work to have great relationships with these schools and try to recruit hard in Georgia because there is so much talent here. We have done a pretty decent job recruiting in our state, but have also been able to pull guys like Marshall and Gurley out of NC, AJ Green out of SC, and Theus, Murray and Michel out of Fl. All were high level recruits and had offers from many prominent schools so it's not like it's impossible for us to go out of state. IMO, we would be a top 5 recruiting school on a consistent basis if Alabama and Auburn hadn't won national championships in the last 5 years, but they've won 4 of them so it's harder to keep everyone away from those schools. It's not like the other schools in our area are the Mississippi schools.

How many seasons has it been since Tennessee put back to back winning seasons together?

I was in Athens in 2009 and UGA was lucky to win that game. If it were not for Rambo knocking his arse out hitting mario Fannin, Auburn wins.
And yet, Auburn's win last year was a solid win?

While true, he said that georgia is perenially underachievers. And yet, we consistently have better seasons than Tennessee.

I understand how recruiting works. My point is how many Georgia Products have lead their teams to Conference and National Championships. I can think of Cam, Ward and Marshall, right off hand. I'm sure there are more.

Richt has given AU its 2nd conf loss once and third loss 4 times so yeah, AU was in good shape going into the DSOR more than once.

Ward - 1993, so that's a pretty long time ago. Ward also lived in Thomasville which is about 45 minutes from FSU and 4 hours from UGA.
Marshall - We had him on our team before he decided to steal from his own teammates. I don't know how you could possibly blame the University of Georgia for that idiot.
Cam - Agree with you for the most part on this one. We thought Logan Gray would be better than he was. That being said it is pretty hard to blame Cam for going to Florida under Urban Meyer's system.
Any more?

You'd be surprised to know that Marshall signed with Georgia.

Lets start a list of All-SEC Players from Georgia that did not play for UGA in the last 12 years.

Answer me these 2 questions:
How many players can a college football team field?
How many division 1 caliber players reside in the state of Georgia?
I know I'm asking you to do math but I belieb in you.

Tech and Auburn fan. Double dose of losses at the hands of UGA probably has really gotten to him.

I was looking at this earlier....
In Ga. for the '15 cycle there are...
five - 5*'s
Twenty five - 4*'s
ONE HUNDRED TEN - 3 *'s
140 - 3* or higher players...
Yup, we can take them all... plus the 7-10 four & five*'s we pull from outta state every year...
