If Texas became an independent state I'm not sure they'd have warm relations with Missouri, you might have a rough time getting a reentry visa.

American football would have enough backing to become an Olympic sport and Alabama would dominate.

Without the U.S. government subsidizing most of the states in the South, they would fall into a deep poverty and all would be considered third world countries.
As for Arkansas, we would start eating more rice because we can grow enough to feed everyone in the state.

It's the brutal truth.

If all the people that require heavy subsidizing would carry heir arse, I'm sure the Southern States could survive as independents.

Texas would be like 1940 Germany and start dominating the rest of the country. Just have to avoid the temptation to get bogged in a war of attrition far away from home by attacking Brazil.

We would be the Saudi Arabia of the Americas

Poorly, I'm sure. The only question is how poorly, and I have no clue.

I don't know about that, Venezuela produces a bunch of oil too I think.

More like the Nigeria. Baton Rouge with its crime and HIV is about like Lagos. Then you have the swamp tards that make the river people of Nigeria look civilized. Texas would be stealing your oil in no time and paying you in liquor and peanuts.

I think SC and Texas would be fine, both have pretty much done it already.

Georgia would definitely be better off without federal government interference.

Alabama would not fare too well. Our unemployment would skyrocket to around 50%, there'd be riots in the streets.

And the fact that we are a net taker of federal money right now. We may be the leader of the free world in welfare and disability.
How would we replace that money?
I mean really--Alabama as a state is a loser.

Yep, which is funny given our ultra-conservative state Government.
