Incredible. Yes. I know.
Tennessee has been abused and destroyed by the east and several teams by the west over the years, but it is their time to shine. Most of Tennessee opponents this year are either going through severe rebuilding processes, or #tDeclining considerably fast.
- Georgia = No Murray who was the GOAT Georgia QB
- Florida = Miserable. Equate them to 2007 Alabama team except their head coach isn't the eventual king of college football in the modern era. Will continue to be in a dumpster fire
-Mizzou = Had their best chance to win SEC last year. Unfortunately, tGusBus made a pitstop in their a-hole, and gave them a beating that Pinkel will never forgot. That loss I'm sure knocked the wind out of the program and will most likely end up helping Tennessee and similar rising programs knockout a declining Mizzou program. Pinkel retires shortly after.
- Kentucky = Kentucky
- SCAR = Butch Jones has exposed once again Steve Spurrier's raging Achilles heel that he seemed to have only recently developed at SCAR. Even with the plethora of talent he has brought in to the program, Spurrier always seems to lose to that one team out of nowhere that prevents them from any real championship success (minus 2010). Will beat handily this year. Butch has Spurrier's number (unlike Saban)
Vandy - Tennessee's toughest opponent. Just as consistent as SCAR success wise IMO. Franklin's intensity will still transition over through the new coach.
As you can see, the east is weak, and Tennessee, under Butch Jones, will dispatch it with relative ease. The only games they should have trouble in are Vandy and Mizzou as far as the SEC East goes. Obviously Oklahoma and Bama are guaranteed losses. Rest Of opponents are easy and will be won easily.
Tennessee goes 10-2 in regular season losing TSIO, but getting a rematch in a new rivalry game which will be coined the FSID. From there it is TBD....

As much as I'd love to see it and would be on a manic, delirious high for months I think we're a couple of years from SEC championship contention.
And Vanderbilt will be our second easiest conference win.

Winning the East and finishing 5th in the country his second year in the SEC is definitely not something Pinkel can recover from. The Horror. The Horror.

I would not say a 59-42 a beating like you would never forget. Missouri did score 42 points, also the reason Auburn did not win the National Championship, NO DEFENSE!!!!!

I guess going 11-1 the year before last made Muschamp a real dumpster fire?
You do realize that UT is basically having to replace their entire OL & DL this year? That doesn't bode well for 2014...but I do think Jones has recruited his butt off and UT will be back in contention in a year or so...IF the UT faithful don't lose patience and drive Jones away.

Tennessee is more likely to win 4 total games than 4 games against East competition.

You might have a future as a fiction writer, but not as a sportswriter.

I know whose football opinion I shouldn't value from now on.

I think Butch Jones is a good coach/recruiter and that Tennessee will be a strong team in 2015, but if they do any better than 6-6 this fall I'll be shocked.

I wouldnt be shocked if UT won East. I dont know who I would consider the favorite in the East.
