Name some players from your team (mainly RS) that nobody

knows about outside of if they were a star in HS or other fans of your school.
Morgan Steward RB- Biggest and fastest back on the team. Fumble issues, he fixes that. The sky is the limit.
Charles Harris DE- Last minutes commit two years ago, ex-bball player. Played one (could be wrong here and it could have been 2) year football in high school. Spring reports scream about him, being all over the field. A coach has even compared him to Osi Umenurah (sp)

Coleman Harley - THE best longsnapper in the country without question. Expect to never hear his name often next year.

True story, a friend of mine just tried out for LS for the Falcons. They called him Thursday morning and told him he needed to be in Atlanta (he was in Jackson) by 1pm. It was like 9am. His dad drove 110 the entire way there and they made it in time. Turns out, the secretary or w/e that called had the date wrong. It was next Thursday not this past Thursday.
They set him up in a hotel with meals and expenses covered for an entire week. Worth the headache IMO.

A.J. Hilliard. Transferred from TCU last season. Eligible this season. Plays all three linebacker position.

LT- Shon Coleman
Former 5* OL that got cancer and is now in remission. Guy is supposedly Greg Robinson good. Huge frame, all muscle (cancer got rid of the fat
) and has learned a lot the past few years sitting out
Star- Justin Garrett
Auburn people won't shut up about him but he is one of our best defensive player as a senior yet never seen the field. Super injury prone but can lay the lumber. Solid in coverage, huge hitter and reasonable ballhawking skills

I know Josh Harris' cousin who is a longsnapper for the falcons (or was idk anymore). Lives the dream. Very little injury risk, not a lot of exposure to concussions like most guys, makes a lot of money and qualified for pension soon.

Korliss Marshall, RB.
He got a few snaps last year, but not enough to get much notice from SEC fans unless they were watching closely (and why would they?)
He could be special.
A.J. Derby, TE.
Yeah, you might have heard of him. Unspectacular at QB as a backup to injured Brandon Allen.
Moved to TE this spring and by gosh, sounds like he's going to be a more than solid contributor there. He can catch the ball.

I hope Coleman has a great season. If ever a player deserved it, it would be Shon.

Former 4* Nigel Bowden - ILB (think he beats out Jacob Sealand pretty early in the season.
He played last year as a RS Fr (had 5 TFL & 3.5 Sacks) and was productive but Stephen Weatherly could be outstanding as an OLB in Mason's 3-4. 6'5 255 pd for HS WR, super quick off the edge but athletic enough to drop into coverage.

Agreed on Shon...hope he's as good as advertised
For Bama
On D:
Tim Williams - RSed last year to gain wt but an elite pass rushers skill set. Was an absolute animal pass rushing and in the flats and coverage at Aday
Reggie Ragland - Struggled to learn playcalls and checks his whole career for the ILB always had the athleticism and physicality. Looked like a totally different player than I've seen since he's been on Bama's campus on Saturday, had a gang load of tackles, had the check downs and was flying around making plays all day. Could be Bama's answer to losing Mosley.
Honorable Mention - DJ Pettway - Gonna be a force this year and may end up being the best player on D by the end of the year. Recognition though because of the ACT Card incident
On O:
Alphonse Taylor - Came in as a NG/DT but had horrible technique in particular looked like an OL
so he switched over took a yr to get playbook down, now looking like he will be a high impact starter at RG replacing Steen.
ArDarius Stewart - Came in as an accomplished Athlete who played QB at Fultondale HS but mostly a runner. Showed versatility this Spring by playing S to provide depth then switching back to WR and showing his skills in the Aday game with a coup,e really impressive catches including 1 TD catch. Chris Black, expected slot WR looked less than stellar (had a few drops although the QBs were terrible) Stewart will provide good depth at slot WR behind Black and likely make a name for himself this year with his speed and acrobatic catches.

On defense:
DT Regie Meant. Lightly recruited out of high school, was a 6'4 270 lb DT/DE. Only played a couple of years.
Used a RS last season, put on 30 lbs and has all but locked down a starting DT position in '14. Will likely beat out 4* JUCO DT Cory Johnson for the 3 tech spot.
On offense:
Patrick Towles. A 6'5 235 lb 4* QB from the 2012 class. Joker Phillips burned his redshirt against Mississippi State where he went 5-5 71 yards and a TD before being injured and struggling to compete the rest of the season.
Took a RS in 2013 and spent the offseason with a local QB guru, fixing a hitch in his mechanics.
Currently competing against Drew Barker for the starting QB position, there is some chatter that Towles leads the competitition.

CB- Aaron Davis - Walkon
Has been playing with the number 1 unit above lots of highly touted CB's. Was injured his last 2 years of high school. Played great in the spring game and was the best corner on the field from the reports I have seen.
WR- Jonathan Rumph - Juco - big tall receiver with ability. Didn't play last year because of injuries but all reports are that he should have a good season this year.
