Now that spring practice is wrapping up I wanted to know what the respective fans of these two teams in particular are thinking about their chances. Both teams seem to be happy with the QB situation and overall talent level and depth of the two squads in general. There are well-documented issues breaking in new QBs for LSU, Bama, and A&M.

I would like to know if either of the fans of these two teams think that this is the year to make it to Atlanta. Does everybody else think either has a chance to win the toughest division in college football?

I think this will probably be the best both teams have been at the same time in as long as I can remember. I would be surprised if either team was able to make it to Atlanta but wouldn't be asking the question if I didn't think it was possible.

If one of them makes it to Atlanta I will bump this thread for you.

If MSU wins their big rivalry game with AU early in the season, watch out.

For either one to make it, here's what would have to happen. LSU, Bama, and A&M cannot solve their QB issues; Auburn has to have a Malzahn version of a sophomore slide, and Arkansas cannot surprise.

On top of that, for MSU to pull it off, they would actually have to overcome 20 years of bad history and defeat LSU while Ole Miss would have the same mental road block against the state Alabama to deal with.

If they each through all of that, and find themselves on Thanksgiving weekend for the SEC west, it would be advantage Ole Miss due to the fact they are playing in Oxford and Ole Miss would also have the sting of last year's debacle fresh.

In the end, though both are capable of having solid seasons, History tells us that something will go wrong for both of them, and each will finish b/w 9-3 and 7-5 while either Auburn or Alabama will be hanging another championship banner.

Our only problem is Alabama. We can beat everyone else in the west. Alabama is the one team we can never fricking beat though. We'd need others to do the dirty work in order for us to make it.

MSU will lose to Bama, auburn, and LSU ar least.
Dak is good, but LSU and Bama's defense will be overwhelming, and auburn will outpace their offense.

Ole miss will have the same issues i just think they are a slightly better team, and would win the Egg bowl this year because it is in oxford.

Glad something to this tune was finally posted, I've been wondering why they haven't just given us the trophy already. The rest of the SEC best set their sights on 2015 and pray Dak doesn't stay for a senior season.

Combine the 2 rosters and that team might have a chance.

No. But State will be deeper than OM at QB, RB, TE, DL, DB, and maybe LB.

Bama is too loaded and every team in the West except Aub, and maybe Lsu can forget beating Bama next year, won't happen. I think Bama wins the West this year and the SEC. Too well coached and too good.

LSU-Best year for State to get a win but not likely to happen since in BR. Even if State was better than LSU top to bottom we would still lose to LSU, I almost could guarantee it.

I think Ole Miss is closer than State...not that State isn't going to be good this year. I just think OM is a little further ahead and they have to play OM at OM. That being said, I don't think we can get through the year not losing to 2 between Bama, AU, at TAMU, at LSU. We SHOULD win the rest...but we all know how that goes. Of course, if we have the IMMENSE amount of luck that AU had last year, anything can happen.

The one thing I CAN predict with certainty is that OM will NOT lose to TSBU at home.
