Hey guys, just wondering about your coach, I really like him and know he is outspoken about his faith and being a mentor to the players. Recently Dabo is catching a lot of fire from an atheistic based group I believe for having optional team Bible studies. Is that something Richt does also? It seems like this always comes up with Clemson, it's like the third time I believe, before it was the ACLU I believe.

Dabo should tell them to frick off and let the players participate if they want.

FWIW, I'm not an atheist. I just wanted a reason to post that pic.

optional

As long as that's the case - then there's no problem. However, I wonder how much pressure there is to be seen at such a gathering even if you don't believe in mythology.

We don't care if Georgia's coach is a devil-worshipping orgy enthusiast married to a Wiccan, if he'd win a National Championship.

I don't really care if it's optional. I only care if it's used as criteria to hire/keep a coach.

Dude could be into Zorastrianism for all I care if he's good at his job

If it were mandatory it would be an issue but if it is optional I do not see the problem.

I respect both coaches & their stand. They both seem to truly want to help these players be the best young men they can be...

I will admit tho that the whole water trough baptism thing on the 50yd line caught me off guard & seemed a little too staged & over the top for my taste...JMHO...

I believe a big reason many recruits choose UGA (and Clemson) is because of the coaches' religious position. Many of the parents feel better about handing their kids over to someone that is going to lead them in the way they would want.

lots of coaches are religous and allow that in their programs...Dabo and Richt get it cause they are outspoken about it...nothing to see here...they are both good football coaches as well...
