Well, I'm a 3rd generation Ag and like all my family members I was military, you may not understand why we wear our rings but it was my ring that other Aggies saw when I first stepped foot in Afghanistan. Wearing my ring has brought conversations I would have never had the opportunity to have across the world with my fellow Ags and I'm always amazed at how many places I run into them, wouldn't have happened without the ring

It's probably more of an older generation thing.

I think it has more to do with pride than age, especially with the Aggies and several other Texas schools. (TCU, Baylor, SMU, Texas)

Similar to the Jeep wave sounds like.

I never bought a HS ring because I thought they were cheesy but I wish I bought a college ring just to keep in the safe. I doubt I would really ever wear it.

Aggie Network is the best alumni group in the world. The Aggie Ring is a power move. Deal with it.

Do you sign the bottom of your emails with your class year like Taylor Hamm does?

We have an Aggie engineer in our offic and he has his ring hanging on a string in his cubicle and he puts it on when we have visitors. What a fig.

The only thing I have is an Alumni Association sticker on my car. That's it.

Working in a cube - sounds like a typical ag.

It's not a class ring.
It's an Aggie Ring.
Each Aggie's ring is the same.
It's about solidarity and family.
Something I've noticed about the SEC: Many fans claim to respect & appreciate the game of college football and its inherent traditions--more so than fan bases in other parts of the country.
Yet whenever a school has traditions that stray from the SEC norm, many of you start in with the insults. Y'all want everyone to be the same.
Texas A&M University--in many ways--does things very differently than do other schools. That's how it's always been, and it's not likely to change. And all of the sophomoric, "we're too cool for that" comments won't cause any of us to do more than chuckle.
We don't laugh at your homecomings; cut us some slack on our dead dogs scoreboard.

It's a mark of enormous pride to have graduated from A&M, and it's a very big deal to get the honor of wearing the ring. Sorry you can't understand that.

So it's a ring that you wear when you graduate. That is a class ring. Just because I call a turd a block of gold doesn't mean it's not a turd.
This isn't a big deal and is just another unique tradition but still.

I have one and wear it on special occasions.
I have a friend who wears his everyday. Auburn Grad. I figure they are prevalent in states where you don't want people confusing you for "one of them" whoever the other college may be.
