I like San Antonio and Austin as well. I hate the rest of the state though, and I've spent plenty of time in it.

The only oil that I even use is olive oil.

We use olive oil at my house too but really when I cook southern food it's in a seasoned cast iron skillet with bacon grease. No oil.
Hell, I've got my cast iron so well seasoned I don't really need any bacon grease.

I live in California and lol just LOL at Floridians thinking their state is worth a shite. You're a fricking flyover state and no one gives a shite about you. GTFO.

Yea is good food, prolly not better than Nola but a FYI, Florida's not all retirement homes, and I'd personally rather be on the beach than in the swamp.

A bouncer in Austin told me to throw out my beer in Austin because of open container laws. I dolt him "Im sorry i didn't know we were in the soviet union" my friend told me i should get out more, but why would i want to go somewhere i can't drink on the street?

Boyfriend has some cast iron stuff but I only use the dutch oven to cook French food and stuff in it.

In fairness, French food has a lot in common with southern food.

I know. Southern food has a lot of French influences. I don't eat a lot of fried foods though... and far too many southern foods are fried.

Que? Only in Louisiana would that be true. The rest of the south is Scot-Irish and English.
