This has been a bad thread for AU fans in general.

Not their best work.

I have one bama shirt. two polos. a fishing shirt. and a hat. Have not bought anything new in over a year. Honest.

OBSESSED I TELL YOU!!!

I never said fans like you do not exist, just that you are far outnumbered by the rest. When bama is winning the racks at stores are 5 times any other school. Not obseesed, just wanted someone to state the facts, instead of the bama slanted version.

that happens at every school.

4 years ago the racks at every sporting store in Texas was filled with Longhorn gear. it was 70% Texas / 20% ATM / 10% LSU/UH/etc.

Did a 180 with the emergence of ATM/SEC and JFF.

I didnt see the full list of schools but going on your logic, one would think that Texas ATM would have among the highest revenue numbers because of the amount of sidewalk fans buying the gear at the sporting stores. I mean there are 30 million people in Texas compared to Alabama's 6 million.

I dont see that as being the case. The only reasonable expalnation is that Bama is in fact a national brand.

I do not think any AU fan is jealous of a fanbase that their wardrobe consist of mainly T-Shirts and baseball caps. I just wanted to shoot down the myth that Bama is a Nationwide Product based on Merchandize sales. The demographics of most Bama fans (mainly in the Southern States) would show the t-shirt to button down ratio to be higher than most other teams. I laugh at any bama that lives in the State who argues otherwise, all they have to do is go to the local mall and see the proof.

My personal experiences have shown that most Alabama fans are business professionals, and most Auburn fans are usually in the service sector. Most often with their name on their shirt.

This thread, summed up from an Auburn perspective, especially that of TiM83:

I know mobile is only 120 miles away, but you see lots of Bama gear around New Orleans, and I'm not talking about tourist. It is easily the second most predominant sec school here.

And Lafayette has a Bama fan base, but I assume that is just to piss off LSU fans.

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I can say that we have a very large Bama fanbase here...

Athletic revenue at Alabama

The massive increase in revenue in Saban's tenure was only slightly improved because of people in the state. Alabama is a massive national brand now, so the bandwagon has brought in a ton of money as well from around the country.

I have seen it in Alabama, but nowhere else. The Bama fans have half their wardrobe dedicated to Bama items. It is almost a tax on the ignorant and poor of the state.

I see almost 2,000 teenagers in middle Tennessee every day, and I see more wearing Bama gear than any other school...including Tennessee.

Last I checked we have the highest percentage of out of state students in the SEC outside of Vandy.

Can you provide a link for this? I thought Ole Miss had the highest % out of state besides Vandy.

So you see 200 (10%) teenagers from Middle TN running around in bama gear, and it confirms that bama is a National Brand. I am sure there is redneck spillage occurring in Mid TN. My guess you see a lot of Dale Jr and Hank Jr items there in TN also.
