My guess is that Saban is going to petition the NCAA to keep other schools from hiring good basketball coaches because it isn't fair and there might be injuries - of feelings.

I think Auburn will do good under Pearl. I don't think it will be INSTANT TURNAROUND FINAL 4, but I believe they do make a good shot at the tourney or at least 1 seed NIT.
However, doesn't change the fact that Alabama is where basketball programs go to die. He's gonna need to thangs the atmosphere around there big time.

I honestly believe we will sell out season tickets (I mean our arena is small) and there will be an excitement unlike any other for Auburn basketball

Anyone who was in school in the late 90s(me), def cared about bball. We were real good and Beard Eaves was packed all the time.

He's the type of guy who can do it though. Let's be honest, part of it is perception and part of it is ability. They're not that comparable, but Saban has the same thing. He could turn around any program on perception alone. Pearl should bring buzz to Auburn, which will lift recruiting and put fans in seats.
