Players flop in basketball all the time and are rewarded.
As we have seen in this very thread Auburn has perfected the flop.

Ethics? Surely you jest. Do you think that the officials would pass on anyone down and not stop play? The very first time they tried to by-pass safety and someone got seriously injured, they would open up the organization for lawsuits. Player saftey is and always will be their number one concern.
HUNH offenses got the rule tabled. But, make no mistake, there are teams that they play that will flop 6 to 8 times a game. This will likely lengthen the game considerably. This will especially be true with teams that aren't in good condition.
This flopping will be a direct result of these offenses. The fans of these HUNH offenses are just going to do a lot of boing!

Why are Bama fans so delusional?
Seriously, just because you can share your opinion doesnt mean you ought to. Take a second and let that sink in

edit. since you are fond of quoting me, you will notice that in the very first post of this thread i define flopping as going down with a less than traumatic injury.
Yes, you changed it after I exposed your ignorance
All anyone has to do is note the following on your post

Only fair if the supposed jr high ref wants specific examples of refs being out of position (he acts like that is unheard of) that he back up his on claims. Very telling that he won't/can't.
Also, why is a jr high official so interested in posting on a SEC message board when he claims no team? Makes him look desperate to try to be important. Or like a fricking punk arse cop.

the question remains, how do you define flopping?
I noticed mr big shot ref won't/can't answer this question and a couple more you asked him and since he got slapped like a bitch in this thread and exposed for the wanna be big shot and hypocrit that he is has resorted to semantics and insults. I sure hope he gets to ref my sons future pee wee or jr high games since he is so good at keeping his cool.

Who here is for hunh and their ability to exploit the rules to the fullest to gain offensive advantages such as stopping defensive substitution, putting pressure on the officials, etc, yet find the idea of defensive players Dropping for less than traumatic injuries reprehensible?
I got no issue with it.

Rule Book Code of Ethics:
quote:
Feigning an injury for any reason is unethical. An injured player must be given full protection under the rules, but feigning injury is dishonest, unsportsmanlike and contrary to the spirit of the rules. Such tactics cannot be tolerated among sportsmen of integrity.
Given this is already on teh books and that the issue of player safety has been raised I think we should kill two birds with one stone and enforce the existing rule by making all "injured" players remain out for several minutes (or a change of possession) so they can be properly examined by medical staff before returning to the game.
That would eliminate the fake injuries, or at least limit the effectiveness of that as a general strategy.

Cause and effect. Saban has been ethical in the ways his games are played. Probably the least penalized team in the nation. His teams are probabl the most physical and in shape teams in the country. He probably prepares his players for the NFL better than anyone. So, what do you think he is going to coach when it comes to flopping.
So, when you say that when you think Bama people would except him as a criminal. What you get when you have Saban, is the consumate best coach in the nation. I guess when you haven't got it and not going to get it, you can make asinine statements like that.

It's not within the rules to fake an injury to slow down an offense, but there's really no way to enforce it either.

By dodging questions and losing his temper? Sounds like he would make a great ref.

I'm sure you, with countless hours eating Cheetos and drinking beer yelling at refs on your TV are infinitely more qualified
