How would you rank the sec coaches and their staffs based on just recruiting. not coaching, not play calling, not developing talent or eye for finding it just recruiting strictly and their ability to win a recruit over other competing schools.
Here are my. Would like to see yours.
SN:Havent really followed recruiting for that long.
Head Coach
1.Saban
2.Butch ( the man can recruit,Deal with it)
3.Les (just a likeable guy)
4.Sumlin ( Cool black guy persona helps)
5.Freeze (2013)
6.Richt
7.Malzhan
8.Muschamp (Impressive flips, with the occasional big fish from out of state)
9.Spurrier(Getting Lazy with it IMO)
10.Bielima
11.Stoops (small sample but good one)
12.Mullen
13.Pinkel (One of best at developing players just find him to weak as a recruiter though)
14.Mason (Lack of experience and connections in sec states)
Staffs
1.Bama (f.you. You cousin F***ers)
2.Georgia
3.ULSU
4.Auburn
5.A&M
6.TN (really good recruiters just need to working on the coaching aspect.Thigpen)
7.Arky( sneaky good recruiters on staff that remain from turnover not sure on the new guys)
8.Ole Miss ($$$)
9.Florida ( Joker posters are scary)
10.Kentucky (work hard)
11.SC (not really sure on this one)
12.Mizzou
13. State
14.Vandy( Not sure on them just gonna assume last)

Too low. Pruitt, McClendon, Bobo, and Lilly are elite recruiters. Rocker is solid in ATL. Ekeler and Sherrer both show promise.
ETA- I would put Muschamp higher in the HC category. As a recruiter, he gets after it.

Agree they're are elite just have a hard time moving them up. Just like everything else in the sec as far as recruiting goes top 5 in the country but 4th in the sec. Who would you move down?

Considering we have the last 4 recruiters of the year I think you can bump them up.

Agree with them at 2?

I was just messing with you. 2-5 are probably all on the same level.

You change your opinion just like that?
Pushover.

Auburn no longer has Thigpen or trooper. Was just assuming that they belonged up there.

AU is the Dameyune Craig show

Craig, Garner, and Lashlee have been very, very good

Ole Miss and State's staff are both better than Arky's.

It seems that you guys aren't agreeing with the staff list. lets see some other rankings of the staffs.

UGA's staff is pretty damn good, but you can probably interchange 2-5 with each other and make a good argument.

Craig and Garner are top notch recruiters. Lashlee's an up and comer.

Garner and Lashlee have been good, but Craig's on a different level imo

My top five:
1.) Bama: You have Nick Saban who is one of the most involved head coaches in recruiting, Napier who owned Louisiana this past year, Kirby "Saturday night fever" Smart who is one of the best closers, Lance Thompson (How did he pull off Da'Shawn Hand?), Coach Steele (recruiter of the year in 2003), Coach Cristobal who pulled off an amazing oline class. This year we will also get to see Lane Kiffin doing work. The only deadweight we have in recruiting is Bobby Williams.
2.) UGA- I think the addition of Pruitt is only going to help their recruiting efforts this year.
3.) LSU- They recovered quite nicely from their 545 debacle. Frank Wilson seems to do well, as does Les Miles.
4.) Auburn- They have the best bagmen is the business
. All kidding aside, Craig and Lashlee seem to do well.
5.) UTAMU- The class they put together last year was very good. They have a lot of in-state talent to rely on this year. Should be able to put together a top five class. Sumlin seems to relate well with the recruits. I like the way he has embraced social media.

Garner has pulled in:
5* Carl Lawson (got him to stick)
5* Elijah Daniel
5* Monty Adams
4* Davonte Lambert
4* Justin Thornton (you can probably attribute this one mainly to DC though)
4* Andrew Williams
4* Devaroe Lawrence
4* Dontavius Russell
And that's just in two years. Don't know how you can get much better than that.

I'm not dismissing Garner at all. He's a really good recruiter. I just think Craig is in the group of really elite recruiters (McClendon, Pruitt, Napier, Smart, Wilson, Thigpen, T-Rob, etc.). I'm not sure I'd include Garner in that group anymore.

Garner>Thigpen.
At least in their time at AU. With the list I just posted I don't see how anybody can be a level above Garner.
