He was envisioning people telling him he was the greatest coach of all time after leading USCe to a NC. Now it's pretty obvious that'll never happen and he's bitter about it. To top it off, he's had to watch Saban win three out of the last five NCs and stealing any thunder he might have gained in turning the cocks around. Therefore, he feels the intense need to try to undermine Saban at every turn. He's a freaking douche and always has been and anyone who admires him and his childish bullshite has a bit of douchery in themselves.
So you seem to know everything in Spurriers head. The only people advocating this rule are Bama fans who would want to get rid of the forward pass if Saban wanted to. Did you have a sit down talk with the HBC where he expressed these feelings to you. Spurrier leaves about as envious of a life as anyone I can think of, but keep calling him bitter. While you're doing that read your post and see who sounds bitter as frick.

And the Redskins have had so much success since he left. Daniel Snyders problem, HBC did not want to deal with it.
South Carolina has as many championships under Spurrier as the Redskins have since he left, so I'm not sure if that helps make your point.

The OBC is an old school roughneck. He'd never hide behind a rule change. With the OBC at the helm, USC fans are sure to be able to maintain their dignity.

I just think the mullet nation is covering for Saban who obviously found a way to step on his own tiny dick with this rules bullshite.

Well, I could spell it out for you. Give you a paint by numbers sketch of the whole thing, if you will.
But that would deprive you of the effort, and the ultimate sense of accomplishment, of achieving something on your own.
So no, you will have to work this puzzler out for yourself.
And you may hate me now, but ... one day ... you will thank me for it.

Cool. So you don't have a point. Nice deflection.

Saban is perfect for Alabama. He is one of the few coaches who can control the Alabama fan base. He just doesn't have the same control over the rest of the college football world and he shouldn't have.

Spurrier is the fricking King. I love Nick Saban and all he has done for the University of Alabama but this shite he is pulling is kicking me right in the dick. I hate that our coach is the one that is all about this God awful rule change. And frick all of you fellow idiot Bama fans backing it. It's a cowardly act.
What is this? I'm not used to seeing a Bama fan with logic, honesty & reason. You are correct of course and every real CFB fan should agree. Thank goodness the HBC don't mind adding his voice in opposition to the HUNH nonsense & I wish (and continue to hope) others join him. Of all places for this back-door approach to have originated, it's a total embarrassment to the SEC. Should it come to pass, the laughing will never stop. I can hear it now, "you couldn't stop us so you changed the rules". The whole thing is absurd & anybody looking for this proposal to pass in order to achieve a competitive advantage is disgusting. Man up, recruit & coach defense - if the HUNH presents you an undue challenge, adapt.

Its actually HBC. Carry on.

I've always thought Spurrier felt an inferiority complex towards Saban. This kind of reaffirms that belief.

I think Gus and Tubbs are the only big coaches with winning records against Saban.
ETA: Spurrier is 3-1 vs Saban. 2-0 at UF and 1-1 at Bama.

Not everything but it doesn't take a mind reader to see that he's got serious Saban issues. Last year, he tried to claim that what he has done at USCe is more impressive than what Saban has done at Alabama. That was completely unsolicited. What does that tell you about Spurrier's mindset when it comes to Saban?
Incidentally, winning one eastern division championship doesn't come close to winning three out of five NCs no matter how impressive USCs history of sucking is.
