Not for us.
Still packing in 30,000 a week.
But quick, someone link the article saying A&M has the SEC's fourth best student section.

Ive been to 5 aggie games the past 2 years and every single time ive been in first deck. Only time it was packed was for lsu last year. every other game there was plenty of empty seats because they weren't good opponents, which happens everywhere. You are having that problem, you are just to biased to see it.
You're either a liar or an idiot.
It's that simple.
A&M has packed literally every game the last two years--probably three.
This is particularly true for students.
Again, you're either a liar or an idiot. Regardless, almost everything yilou said here is false.

Because of JFF, for majority of the 2000s Kyle field was half empty unless it was against Texas or OU.
Factually wrong. Just so very wrong.
Assumptions are a dangerous thing. When made by the grossly ignorant they're just plain terrible.

But your Size to student population isn't all that impressive (it is better than UF, but still not great). AU could drop their size down to closer to 50% and be full every game.
Wrong.
We literally can't seat anymore students than we do. They occupy a third of the seating. When they fill up their allotment that's it. The other 2/3rds are held by season ticket holders/visitors.

Their website says 58K student body Eta: 58,809
Read your own link. That figure includes A&M Qatar, The Health Science Center, A&M Galveston, and the Law School (in DFW).

That is another issue with this type of study. Auburn has no assigned seats, and they oversell like crazy. It is a pain in the arse for the SEC games especially. So, even when the report for the student section is at 100% capacity, it is more like 110%, however that is impossible to show up on any research.
Well...that's not true.
I was at the Auburn Ole Miss game this year on the Plains and the stadium was at, maybe 85% capacity.

I don't feel like reading though this thread, but as a current student who goes to basically all the home games, the #1 reason for less student attendance is no alcohol in the stadium. Almost everyone I know that leaves early leaves when the alcohol they sneaked in runs out

Re the aggies's students packing their section: consider that those 30K students live in College Station. What else is there to do on a game day??? you can only milk cows so many times in a day. When a DQ is considered one of the must see spots in town, going to a football game is a no brainer, even for aggies.

Good thing the new Kyle Field will have perfect cell coverage for every AT&T and Verizon customer. Instagram the shite out of it. Actually my IG worked fine in Tiger Stadium.

The real issue is that the young generation of today is not easily impressed nor entertained. Awesome shite going on all around them and they can't take their eyes off of their cell phones, tablets or game system.
I have 4 kids ages 14 to 3 and I see it every single day. Nothing impresses them. Grand Canyon, the Tetons, touring a battleship, etc...doesn't matter. It's just not as impressive to them as that freaking gadget they hold in their hands.
I have gotten to the point where I have to confiscate gadgets for an hour or more while traveling in the Suburban just to get them to even notice the world around them that is passing them by. "Look at that red tailed hawk swooping down to get that rabbit" will draw a quick glance away from the gadget at best. Big deal. Hundreds of examples like that.
Everything is about instant gratification and "waiting" a few minutes to be entertained or impressed like it is at a sporting event is just not their cup of tea. They would rather sit at a tailgate and constantly text their friend all day who is sitting at a tailgate 50 yards away or sit at a bar and text their friend at a bar down the street than actually have a "personal" experience.
You see the same lack of interest at HS football games now as well. Young people, not all, but the majority, just don't have the patience and appreciation of events that we did before the Information Age took over the world.

South Carolina students have issues getting tickets for football games...some people don't get tickets

Which is why its frustrating to see people leave early or not attend.
UT in 2012 was pathetic. Half the student section was gone by the time UT was driving for a W. And its not like the game had been out of hand.
It was a noon game so I knew we'd start out less than full but damn, half of the group I was with left at halftime, and some other friends I know left even before the Lattimore injury, which was the 2nd quarter iirc.
I think the student section did a much better job this year after Spurrier and Shaw called them out after the Kentucky game. Spurrier bitched last year after the ECU game, but that was the wrong game for him to complain about. Lucky frick was in the shade while all the students were roasting in the stands
