We received nearly 20 votes from this last week, so we'll see how many we can get this week.
Recap
Alright, that's it. Tell us where these teams deserve to be ranked

This is how it'll work. Every Sunday either Semo or I will start a thread on the SECr offering you (if you wish to participate) the opportunity to submit your 1-14 ranking of the SEC Men's Basketball teams. And if you want to go the extra mile you can write a brief comment about your team. If you don't want your vote to be public, you can email me your vote (my email is on my profile).
Of all the reasonable rankings submitted, we will randomly select 2 each week to use in the PR. We will announce each week's winners in the PR each Tuesday.
Deadline for your submission is this Monday @ 6:00PM CT

Florida is clearly the best team in the SEC right now. They aren't the most talented, Kentucky has far more pure talent, but they play well together, play the best defense I've seen in a while, have a hall of fame coach, and are just absolutely tough as nails in the last 10 minutes of games.
So much about the SEC depends on where the games are being played because most teams don't have the stamina or perseverance to win on the road. Georgia, for whatever reason in SEC play, is very tough to beat at home, for example. But I made these power rankings based on who I thought would be better, as of today, on a neutral court.
As far as possible tournament teams:
1. Mizzou has to play @ UT and @ UGA, two tough places to get a win, especially for a team as up and down as Mizzou. They really need to win the rest, and at least split those, to go 5-1, to feel any assurance at all of making the tourney.
2. I think that UT has the most favorable last 6 SEC games of anyone on this list, and if they want to get into the tournament they better win all of them, the big one being Mizzou at home to end the season.
3. Ole Miss has a legit shot at the tourney for one reason: they have UK and UF at home in back to back weeks. They for sure need to win at least one of those, and then win out. Which will be tough, because they still have to play @ Arkansas, and Arkansas is a tough tough out at home.
4. LSU has a tough tough final 6 sec games, but they give them the best chance to make a statement. @ UK and @ UF, plus playing UGA at home. Win out, in the tourney for sure. They for sure have to split one of UF and UK, and then win out. Even then, it might not be enough and they may need to win some SEC tourney games.
5. Arkansas is a talented team, it's so weird how bad they've been on the road this year. They have 6 games left including @ UK, vs UGA, and vs Ole Miss. If they win them all, they have a shot at the tourney.

8th? You don't even think we're in the top half of the league, despite being 3rd in the standings?
the teams you have ranked ahead of us (other than uf and uk who are unquestionably at the top) we are 4-0 against.

I would stoop to saying we have been a totally different team on the road. Outside of two road losses, Arkansas has....lost in OT at UGA. Lost a late second half lead at Tennessee and lost in the last ten seconds at Mizzou the other day.
They aren't getting blown out by any means, they just haven't closed games out on the road outside of Vanderbilt.
They'll have road win opportunities at Alabama and Miss State coming up.

I just dont think georgia would win a lot of games on a neutral floor. They do have that one really good win @ mizzou, but most of their damage has been at home and their scoring margin on the year is only about +1.
Arkansas, (for example) on the other hand is about +10 and clearly has the talent to beat anyone on any given night but sucks arse on the road.
Just imo. They could prove me wrong down the stretch.
