How far back will A&M push the opening of new Kyle to be safe from any delays?

So we all know that A&M pretty much agreed to play Arizona State at Reliant in 2015 mainly as a safety net for the construction of new Kyle.

Watching the clusterfrick that occurred with Tulane/Georgia Tech canceling and reupping their 4 game series mainly due to the threat of Yulman not being done on time makes me wonder if A&M is going to purposely schedule more games away from home for the first few weeks of the season to give some extra time for any potential construction delays.

I think it would actually be possible to push the debut of new Kyle all the way to October if A&M is willing to do one more away game OOC.

The SEC seems to consistently have a few conference games in weeks 1 and 2. So taking that information one could guess that A&M may actually request to open SEC play on the road for a second straight year.

As those early season conference games tend to be vs the opposite division (based on pretty much no research by me) and b/c A&M opens this year against USCe, I will predict that A&M opens 2015 SEC play on the road vs either Georgia, Tennessee, or Kentucky. We may get stuck going back to Mizzou as well but for now I am going to assume we are done with them for a while.

Now week 3 of the season will likely be back to an OOC opponent. Perhaps here is where A&M wants to open Kyle.

However, since the Arkansas game has generally been held the last week of September or the first week of October we can guess that Arky at JerryWorld will be either September 26 or October 3.

If A&M feels they need that extra month to finish off the BMAs side of the stadium they could take the week 3 Sept 19 slot and do an away game OOC.

Again, w/Arizona State already set up and A&M possibly wanting to open new Kyle with a good OOC perhaps we could get a one and one series with a school like Tulane. That would give Ags a NOLA trip to calm the nerves about waiting so long to open the stadium and Sumlin a chance to get at some Louisiana recruits in a year we won't be traveling to LSU.

The biggest negative to this would be that we would likely only get 6 home games for both '15 and '16. (assumes Kyle opens w/an OOC that we have to give a return game to)

this would create a schedule something like

09/05 Arizona State @ Reliant
09/12 @ UGA/UT/UK
09/19 @ Tulane
09/26 Arkansas @ JerryWorld
10/03 OOC or SEC opens Kyle

Of course, perhaps A&M will simply open at Kyle in game 2 against some FCS scrub.

It's possible I've just got too much time on my hands this morning and am already suffering from offseason sickness.

Also, in case anyone was wondering

here is the list of P5 teams that still need a game in 2015

Big 10
Penn State*

ACC
Clemson*
Georgia Tech*
Miami
NC State
North Carolina*
Pitt
Syracuse*
Wake Forest

Big 12

TCU

Pac 12
Arizona**
Stanford**

Of course, not all of those teams will be available b/c several already have at least 6 away games set up. I put a * by the schools that do not already have 6 away games. Arizona and Stanford get ** b/c they both already have at least one away game set up but the Pac 12 has not released the 2015 schedules so we don't know if they get 5 or 4 home conferences games yet.

I would love more B1G games. All of the exposure, none of the risk.

Do we know whether or not the B1G will have a 9-game conference schedule going forward with 14 teams?

Would it really even be that big of a deal if we played two or three big name opponents on the road? We could then play them at home in consecutive years, or space them out even more. Yeah we would be getting fricked in 2015, but the next 4 or 5 years would be pretty cool.

Miami would be a good road trip. They don't have any fans but there has to be plenty of Former Students in South Florida (or nearby).

I wouldn't want another trip to the Carolinas the year after opening with USCe on the road. So rule out Clemson, NCST, UNC, or Wake.

Georgia Tech would be OK but not if we get Georgia that year (don't want two road games in Atlanta). Nor would I want to face both Arizona teams the same year.

With the Arkansas matchup in DFW I wouldn't want another trip there either, and besides TCU may be strongarmed by the Big 12 to participate in their A&M boycott.

Stanford could be a fun trip.

Syracuse would be an easy game but not much of a trip. Pitt as well, and if you can pick between them or Penn State, why not play in Happy Valley and most likely on a major network?
