Brian Shorter, a part-time assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University of Kentucky’s basketball team, was arrested early Thursday morning accused of shoving his wife into an unheated garage and throwing water on her.

A source said there was an argument between Shorter and his wife at their home on Russell Springs, early Thursday morning. According to the victim, it came to a head when Shorter pushed her into their garage, which had no heat, and locked her in there. The victim claimed that about 40 minutes later, Shorter returned and threw a bucket of water on her. She, then, apparently made her way to a nearby hotel where she called for help.

Shorter was arrested at his home.

I don't necessarily buy it. If they are starting the divorce process she would have a lot to gain from hosing herself and walking to the hotel lobby for some sweet court orders and some favorable divorce proceedings.

The story doesn't even make sense, locking her up where she can escape and throwing water on her? It doesn't even make sense.

A maniacal schemer locking the door behind herself, turning her own hose on herself, and walking to a hotel lobby makes a lot more sense.
I don't think those officers that arrested the guy were interested in his side of the story. It was likely an 'on her word' arrest.

Uh, why couldn't she just open the garage door?

It shouldn't be funny because she really could have gotten hurt with temperatures in the teens and lower but my question is why did she stay in the garage for 40 minutes?

Not unlike the Alabama kid … two sides to every story.

What a nightmare--for wife and husband--to be going through a divorce, while also having all the dirty laundry on display.

Little known fact. Women in Kentucky do not have opposable thumbs.

This story smells like a setup to me.

My wife doesn't know how good she has it. Our garage has heat.

There is some definite funkiness going on here. Story doesn't quite add up.

"Your Honor, my client had just recently installed an insulated garage door, and purchased a space heater.

We have nothing further."
