I'm listening to H2H Radio and Matt Wyatt just said that Les Miles and LSU has a "Phil Fulmer" feeling to it.

Spot-on observation IMO.

tDecline is palpable and wow, if Wyatt didn't just take it to the next and possibly gravest level.

Could be worse I guess. It could have a "Lane Kiffin" feel to it.

Yep. Recruiting Fournette and 4 10+-win seasons in a row. We're definitely irrelevant..

I could see LSU going through a down period ala UT. It happens to all of them.

How many years would LSU have to be down to match Ole Miss levels? They would have to miss out on winning the SEC again until at least 2061. That is something that makes you pause.

Les Miles and Phillip Fulmer are a fair comparison. Les has not had a losing season yet though..

Fulmer was in the SEC championship game the year before he was fired.

Your coach was in 5 place and got a raise.

Ill take Fulmer at Tennessee to any coach at Ole Piss anyway.

well i suppose this is progress

the first few years, les was larry coker. now he's phillip fulmer. at this rate he is moving up the coaching ladder at a decent clip.

All flaming aside, there are some pretty striking similarities between Fulmer and Les.

- both are former OLs
- both inherited teams from HOF coaches
- both are very strong recruiters
- both have had john chavis as DC
- both have one bcsncg

I've always thought that Miles and LSU has a "Charles McClendon" feel to it.

Difference being Cholly Mac never won a NC as head coach.

Fulmer had two losing seasons at Tennessee. I expect Miles to go after his second losing season as well.

Cholly Mac only had one in 18 seasons.

That is what you get for listening to a man on the radio that goes around feeling up other men

So you're saying he's the kind of coach that If fired would set the program back a decade... Got it.

Maybe he meant Miles is about to put Bama on probation.
