The only disappointing one we've had in a while was like 2 years ago when we missed on errbody. Last year was pretty good.
Yep. 2012 was bad. I think the only one we got was Avery Young
Had to settle for guys like Leff and Will Adams
Other than that it's been good since I've followed recruiting which was 2010 I think.

That one was just horrible. All the following were thought of having AU "heavily in the mix" leading up to NSD
Eddie Goldman - FSU
Ronald Darby - FSU
Stefon Diggs - Maryland
Kwon Alexander - LSU
Leonard Williams - USC (He was basically a silent up till his OV)
JaQuay Williams gets added as he didn't qualify and we added Will Adams to not eventually get him.

Since our 2 evaluators, Jonesy and KK, are around at the same time for a change I wanna ask y'all something. Is it always the case the high school OL come in being better run blockers than pass blockers? I ask because all our commits and Tez to a man say run blocking is their strength and pass blocking the weakness?
generally speaking, there aren't enough hours in the day of practice time for a high schooler to really really be schooled well in the small things like hand placement, depth of sets (or timing), etc. that make a great pass blocker. It is so much harder to pass block than run block because if you can teach simple leverage and your OL is strong, he can make it look good.
Tez just needs some coaching on pass blocking, he has every tool imagineable to be an elite tackle though. My only concern with him would be adding the weight since he's already pretty heavy in the arse and only 270 lbs., but I'm sure he doesn't eat enough or well enough like he will in college.

Mods must not have appreciated my Gruden to LSU thread. It's as credible as some of the other names they float on the CC board
I bet they are pretty sensitive right now as it seems their search is crashing and burning...

I thought Garner was instrumental in getting Adams and Lawson last time around? No? I also thought he was a well respected recruiter coming from Georgia? Seem he cleaned our clock many time on guys we wanted going head to head. Also, didn't we have a good DL recruiting class last year? It seems like we did.....

Calm the hell down. NSD 2012 is the last acceptable date before 12/12.

All these things are true. There's no denying his struggles this year though

Lawson was already committed and Monty was a silent before he got here. He deserves credit, but it was not just him.
Rocker, who hates to recruit, is cleaning our clock also. Maybe UGA recruits itself.

Athens downtown sells itself. Wish we had their bar scene.

Adams wasn't a silent... far from it.

quote:This exactly. Sky Bar is cool for a while, but that's pretty much it. I like 17, but it isn't nearly as big size or popularity wise. Quixotes is okay I guess. Never really hung around there except for wings and burgers on those specials nights. Bourbon is for freshmen. That's pretty much the bar scene in Auburn.

Fine, I've edited my response. The fact remains Adams as a very long shot before his visit in January. Clemson was probably his leader and bama maybe 1B. It just makes no sense to not give the man credit for getting him on board
Regardless, 2015 DL recruiting has been a disappointment no doubt.
