No it's not simple. We were ranked 4th and they were ranked 7 when 2 teams ahead of us lose. They jumped us for beating UT essentially and it's bullshyt. Complete and utter bullshyt. Period. If UGA is in a conference with no title game we simply move up and play for the title. What's the point in having polls if you are goin to manipulate them over who went to the title game? It's bullshyt. Alabama didn't have to win the title then neither should Georgia....it's that simple.

UGA was higher in the polls for a reason.

Even if it was different, there is no denying that Kirk and the gang repeatedly stated that UGA was not in the mix since they did not win their conference. The same ones were very vocal that Bama deserved it because they were the second best team. Ignoring their earlier stance.

That's the kind of stuff that helps keep UGA out of the MNC picture.

We have bad timing regardless of what we do. We didn't win the conference a few years too early (could have taken advantage of that had Bama done it before us), or we get injuries at the wrong time, or lose games at the wrong time, or our opponents don't lose at the right time, or we make stupid mistakes at the wrong time (other teams make mistakes, they just don't always happen when it matters), or we have bad calls go against us at the wrong time (Vandy), or we have the luckiest plays happen against us at the wrong time (Auburn).

Add it all up and we're left out, year after year.

With our luck, we could go undefeated, but then we'd be out of the picture because the SEC would be "down" that year, and two or three teams from "stronger" conferences would go ahead of us, because we didn't win at the right time.

We've shot ourselves in the feet so many times that it's hard to say that we deserve a shot at the title, but then you look at other teams who are good, but not elite, who get a shot because everything seems to go their way, and it makes you wonder if we'll ever get a shot at playing for it all.

I agree we have had some bad luck and some bad breaks. Maybe one of these years we can catch all the breaks but as a Georgia fan I know I'm just dreaming. :)

in 2007, OSU was the clear #1 at the time, the question was who was #2. It came down to us and LSU, they won the SEC we didn't, pretty simple

I agree, on paper we had no real right to go. However, my question is this; how did LSU jump 5 spots? OSU was 3rd and we were 4th and LSU was 7th going into that weekend. 1 and 2 lost obviously. I know why we didn't go, but why didn't the other teams ranked ahead of LSU go? They jumped over 2 other conference champs with equal records. I just don't see how you could justify them jumping that far after losing to UK and Arky.

It was hard to take for sure but considering LSU owned Ohio St. in the championship game you could argue that LSU was underrated/under-ranked in the first place.

LSU v UGA may well have been the best 2 that year, but ESPN made sure their voice was heard...

One of the teams they jumped that year was Virginia Tech, who LSU beat 48-7 and the other was Kansas, who lost to Missouri on the final weekend of the season and didn't play for the Big 12 title. Kansas had a great team that year, but they weren't a big enough name to justify playing for the title over the SEC champion.

We need a whole new coaching staff (maybe keep Bobo), a new AD and a new president (coming). A few board members need to step down and donors need to say that they are interested in winning a National fricking Championship and if the school does not listen they will shut their check books!

GO DAWGS!

If you buy your whore wife new clothes and a new car, you won't solve the issue with her being a whore... Most people seem to miss that in these discussions...

No they weren't they lost the number one ranking twice that year, no team that does that shite should ever play for an N.C.
I also liked how ESPN said Ga didnt win there conference so they shouldnt get a shot
But on the other hand Ala deserved to play for the N.C when they didnt even win there damn Division

Sorry for the confusion there.

I mean that we didn't win at the right time in history, or rather, during the right season. We could go undefeated but so would 3 or 4 other teams and we'd be left out for some reason. That's just how it goes with us. Something would keep us out.

I don't think we will get the top recruits necessary to develop a to 4 program with the coaching staff we have now.
Start with Bobo. Great statistics but runs an offense straight out of the '60's and totally predictable. Wouldn't be coaching there now if it weren't for Murray's incredible talent.
O Line is poorly coached or out of condition. How can a back get thru a season while being constantly hit at the line of scrimmage?
D Line has no pressure on QB and LB's constantly getting dragged 5 yards downfield.
D Backs don't know their assignments.
BUT...it all starts at the top. Richt has no passion. Richt doesn't get in anybody's shite even when they need it. Richt has poor clock management skills (SEC Title game). Richt can't get the top guys to sign with UGA. Hell, if you were a top 10 guy, would you want to play for Ga or do you want to go to AU or Ala or FSU or Clemson and try to win a title? This answer is clear.

I agree with most accept that^. Clemson won't win shite as long as Dumbo Sweeny is around. He's owned by the Old Ball Sack and their conference blows nuts. Jimbo whips him like a rented mule.

1: Draconian Self-Inflicted Sanctions Must End

This includes previous years undersigning, and the suspensions. None of that would have helped the injury situation this year, but maybe we would have had more depth in the secondary, won the Clemson game, won the Nebraska game, and still have a 10-win season despite the injuries.

Furthermore, many 4 and 5 star kids want to party when they go to college. They watch American Pie, Road Trip, etc, and college is just a big party. They see UGA as a catholic reform school. This does help with the really Christian kids from families of strong faith, but it hurts with the kids who want to be able to cut loose every once in a while.

But as WorkingDawg said, UGA administration actually takes pride in the exact bullshite that holds the program back. They'd rather win 9 games and say "we did it the right way" than win the national championship and say "we played by the same rules as everyone else".

That's really all I'm asking for. Just play by the same rules that everyone else is playing by. Or join the ACC. It's really that simple.

1) Run the ball better
2) Run the ball better
3) Run the ball better
4) Run the ball better

There are a lot of different ways to get there.
Don't rely on Ealey/King/Crowell guys that will let us down.
Don't have Gurley/Marshall hurt.
Better recruiting and development on the OL.
Less focus on our QBs and more focus on running the ball better.
