So I bought this custom made firework. It's one of those parachute ones and at midnight we are shooting it in the middle of the street. Me and my girlfriend always have a competition to see who can catch it. Well this time there is an army man and he is holding the ring so when she catches it.....yea you get the jist.
Things I did to prevent something from going wrong:
1) no trees or roofs it can land on.
2) the ring is secured and cannot come lose unless the arms are loosened and then the ring must be pulled out.
3) if the firework is a dud, the ring will not be harmed and I will reply "something must be blocking it. Let's check it out" and then I pull out the ring and still be romantic as shite.
Wish me luck guys

Good luck. I'm not sure how parachute fireworks work (or fireworks in general).... is there any chance of the ring being really hot?

No. I did a triple check and checked with my friend who is a chemist and he devised some system

Sounds like a fool proof plan to me.
But, regardless, best of success to you.

Do you shoot it out of the bed of your Tacoma.

Good luck. What's his name?
Has Bird given you any advice yet?

Oh yea. I said this in an earlier thread I asked and he said yes but I had to take him on a deep sea fishing trip. He was kidding as he told me later but dammit I'm taking him

Dude, you better hope there is no wind. That ring might just blow into the next county. Good luck with this idea though.

I can't possibly think of 1 thing that can go wrong with putting the ring on a high-powered bottle rocket....dude you're good to go. Hopefully the jewelry store will give you a quantity discount.

The weight of the army man and the ring makes it harder for us to lose it in the wind. and we are having New Years in the Mississippi delta like normal so there will be tons of flat land and no trees

Best of luck. Hope she says yes

Imagine some good ol boy and his girl friend out on a walk......boom, all of a sudden a parachute.
Ellie Mae catches it. Now what?

That's awesome robyman. I'm sure it will go fine. Good Luck, Happy New Year, and Happy Proposal.
They say whoever you spend NYE/New Year with is who you'll spend the next year with. Here's to proposing on New Year helping you land your girl and many future happy years for the two of you.

The blast blows the diamond off and she runs to catch the parachute only to notice there is a ring without any diamonds on it and thinks you're a worthless soulless pos and never talks to you again.
Sounds like it will work.

damn that seems risky
Love is risky so his method of proposal is an apt metaphor. Besides, if something goes wrong it will be a helluva story to tell any future kids/grandkids and us - he better tell us if something goes wrong.
