By the time we have an OOC opening Bert will have 4 full recruiting classes and we'll be on our way back to above average just below really good.
Arkansas is fighting for State with the basement. That's the only team Bielema is outrecruiting in its division.

Funny that they suddenly want to play SEC schools. They've made zero attempt to do so in the last 20 years.
Well, they are a Catholic institution, and the Southeast is like 99.9% Baptist--there's just not much of a benefit in playing in this region...not much of an alumni base for them here and not that many potential recruits. When they started playing LSU back in the 1970s, it was specifically mentioned that LSU had the most Catholic students for a public university in the country (which may have translated to: ND could use the LSU series to dip into New Orleans for some recruits).

I would like to see Georgia play them again. We have only played them once in the Sugar Bowl to win the 1980 NC.

If SEC schools got to play Army, Navy, Air Force, Purdue, and Temple every year, we'd probably be looking for a legit game or two to add to the schedule too.
They don't play Air Force, Army, and Temple every year and they also just ended the yearly series with Purdue.
Also, they play Navy every year as a thank you b/c the US Navy saved the university from financial ruin during WWII.

Louisiana has a ton of Catholics. They used to poach our talent in the 90's if I'm not mistaken.

Which school is more Catholic? A&M or LSU?

Idk. I'd guess TAMU bc of the Hispanic population but couldn't give you an accurate answer without the google.

I think it'd have to be pretty close. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU edged us in Catholics b/c we have a lot of protestant baptists in the region as well.

I would say LSU is more Catholic than A&m

Auburn and georgia tried to schedule them for a home and home in the mid 2000s and ND said no.
if I remember correctly The Fighting Leprecauhns wanted both games on Neautral fields one game in the Colts Stadium and the other in the Georgia Dome
I think Michigan said something similar also when we tried to schedule a home & home with them a few years back

A&M is like 9% hispanic I think. LSU definitely has more Catholics.

the 1996 Independence Bowl between Auburn/Army was originally suppose to have been Auburn/Notre Dame
but The Irish backed out at the last minute

Bama showed the nation they don't belong. Like Bama trying to redo the IB in the Sugar, ND wishes to undo the damage done to it in last year's game.
And don't forget the thorough arse-whipping LSU laid on them in the Sugar Bowl

They're about to get handled by Rutgers.

No, no they didn't. 9 wins with a back up QB and losing most OL. They are pretty good. But irrational Nd hate is allowed on this site.

AS THE ONLY CATHOLIC STATE IT HAS TO BE LSU RIGHT?

Historically I would say LSU. Louisiana is the catholic state in the SEC footprint.

I'd like a home and home. Just like to make a trip there.

The school with the most Catholics should represent the SEC in a regular season arse-kicking of ND, i.e., LSU ...
