Dayam. 2nd chances are one thing but a 2nd chance at the same place where you either (a) found trouble OR (b) trouble found you is typically not a great idea when it involves charges like that.

This is my one thought on the matter.

Considering the small senior class and what looks like only a few early draft guys leaving, Bama is likely going to be well over the 85 limit again without "attrition" if they end up signing 25+ guys this year. It sort of sucks for another player to be booted just so this guy gets his second chance at Bama, but I guess that is the way of the world.

As an alum and the mother of a UA student, I'm really disappointed in this decision. I love The University of Alabama more than I love winning football games.

This is still much ado about nothing. We really need meaner players at Bama. If we had had Nick Fairley and Indominant Suh we would have won a couple of more NC's. We have spent way too many years recruiting "character". If we are going to compete, we need athletes, regardless of their criminality.

I'm not familar with this Pettway case, but unfortunatey there's truth in this statement above. I'm not crazy about the thought of letting crimals on Bama's team at all, but...

Suppose it's like the movie Matrix. Like the Machines in the Matrix, Saban has tried to make the perfect lockerroom(Matrix), but the chemisty has been off somewhat. Bama's Matrix has been made to perfect like it was in the movie Matrix the 1st few times. We need balance and we gotta have a little chaos to mix it up some because it's to harmonious these days. Doesn't mean we go get a bunch of crimals, but we at least need a few more players with mean streaks. AKA- Mr. Upshaw 2011 like....

I certainly have reservations about his return, but I don't believe a young person, in general, should be punished for life for the stupid actions he makes while he is an impulsive teenager. I also don't know the full extent of Pettway's involvement in the incident. I'll have to accept Nick Saban's assessment.

I can guarantee that if he steps out of line just a little, he will be processed.

Bama fans were all too eager to call Cam, Marshall, and AU as tPOS first.

I can only assume you're ok with taking him back?

Not sure your personal stance on cam or nick (or hill from lsu) but surely you see the hypocrisy coming from the alabama side that this kid deserves a second chance?

I believe that there were 3 depositions from 3 different people that stated the same thing about Pettway not actually assaulting the victims. Listen, I've already said that I'm not a big fan of this decision, BUT the charges reflect a more aggressive role in the crimes than he actually played. That's ALL I'm saying.

Pettway admitted to it

So is Alabama now the most thug program in the SEC? I would say that it's probably a tie for first between Auburn and Alabama..

he was involved in one of them and stood by in the other while he knew it was going on. I dont think Pettaway admitted to it though, but the others and the victims stated his role in both the attacks

You do know who started in LSUs backfield this year, right?

And didn't Miles just kick a kid off campus for his, what, 3rd run in the law?

--------------------------------------------------

What is "it"? Link where Pettway said that he assaulted either student. He was there with the perpetrator when it happens so, by law, he can be charged with the crime, also. You're FOS.

LSU regularly kicks players off when they act as criminals, no matter how good they are. Alabama and Auburn cannot say the same.
