I suspect to see a lot less "landshark" punk threads around here for a while. Ole Miss showed they aint ready for prime time yet...have quality young players (although they are thugs and make UF players look like Boy Scouts)
Ole Miss lost tonight for ONE simple reason: they could not run the ball against MSU defense and when you cant run...you cant win. Early on the flags kept firing up Moo Sate and the picks were the undoing.
Mullen had his head up his cheeks when Ole Miss scored its only TD and that was against the special teams. To reset the series....Moo State had the ball DEEP in its territory WITH THE LEAD 7-0 and playing lights out defense...Moo State had true frosh qb and I think the ball was around the eight yd line? Ole Miss used their time outs and what does Mullen do? Instead of taking a knee every snap so backed up...he elects to ROLL OUT his tr frosh qb! I was screaming from my sofa way before the blocked punt. Moo State ended up just inside their 2 yd line and were lucky not to hawe safety called...pure unadultered boneheadedness.
Taking a knee woulkd have given punter much more room...but Moo States kicking game sux.
I just wanted to watch a good game btw.
To all those Ole Pizz posters making fun of UF....GFY 100X You got hosed by instate rival.

Disappointment?
How about UF and the Flagship. You win 8+ games in the SEC, you're not in the same level of disappointment with teams that win 3-4 games.

Lsu is on pace to win 10 games and extend it's streak of being ranked in the top 25. Also, telling you that lsu had more injuries last year than UGA did this year , isn't touting last year's lsu team. Jus saying you can lose players and not have your season be horrible.
Last year lsu lost 3 starting olinemen, starting rb, starting cb , and 2 starting lbs.

We were injured all year too. Come up with more excuses

It has to be Ole Miss

you got beat by Georgia Southern

My original answer was UF, but now with the caveat that an OM loss in a bowl game would have me reconsidering those thoughts. Neither team has won 8 games and neither has the chance to win "+" so I'm missing your point.

Are you trying to compare the two?

That's all I've heard from LSU fans recently when I point to 10 win seasons as a sign of success under Richt. Suddenly, 10 win seasons are the new crystal ball.

That's one way to put it, I suppose.

Back to the original topic- biggest disappointment...
Florida's fall takes it by a hair over A&M and Georgia, if you look at it objectively. A lot of outsiders had both the Aggies and the Dawgs as hot teams ready to make a run at the BCS this year. UGA was legit, their injuries were a fricking shame. They COULD have been there. A&M- Manziel did what he could, but they had absolutely no defense. A waste of an exceptional offense. But Fla, while not expected to go undefeated, WAS expected to be a major factor in the race. Sure they had injuries as bad as UGA, but nobody saw them just quitting on the season the way they have.
LSU, despite our fanbase's demands for perfection, is about where most people had us at the start. Even the loss to Ole Miss was predicted by some in the preseason, if you go check things out- Ole Miss has some young talent, and they're always up for LSU, no matter how their season is.
Going the other way, I did post in the preseason that either Auburn or Tennessee would rebound, and that each would win at least one big game.

You also returned the most starters in the SEC and tied for the 2nd most in the country.
Slightly stunned that was so squandered.

We will return most of them again too. That's what happens when a majority of your team is under 20. Still you comparing year 2 of freeze to year what 12 of richt? Surely you're not this stupid.

Ummm...if the UF/FSU game plays out based on this years performance...it's going to be a whole other level.

But will you be able to take advantage? MSU, LSU, Arkansas, and aTm were all down this year. AU was better than expected, but was still quite beatable. You played Bama early in the year when they were still sputtering. You can't expect that kind of set up again can you? 5 of those teams look to be improving next year with aTm being the exception.

Year 2 has recently been a year of substantial improvement under new HCs in SEC. If things are ever going to vastly improve, that's typically the year it happens. Some can sustain it, some can't, but it's typically an important year marked by significant improvement.
Richt at UGA (13 wins, 1st SECC in 20 yrs)
Meyer at UF (MNC)
Muschamp at UF (11 wins, reached Sugar Bowl)
Saban at Bama (5 win improvement, won West)
Saban at LSU (won West)
Chizik at AU (MNC)
Dubose at Bama(3 game improvement)
Petrino at Arky (3 game improvement)
Spurrier at UF (would have won conference title if not on probation, also at USCe in his 2nd year, his 8 wins were 2nd most since 1988)
Tubberville at AU (4 win improvement)
*Miles was successful in his 1st year after walking into a great situation. One of two coaches on the list to take over a program that had won a MNC within the last 5 years. Saban left LSU in much better shape than Meyer did at UF.
What do all these coaches have in common? They represent every coach from the SEC that has coached in a BCS game except for Fulmer. Further, take away Muschamp/Petrino and these are the only coaches to win the SECCG since 1993 except for Fulmer
Freeze neither walked into a good situation nor had significant improvement his 2nd year, so you're basically hoping he's Fulmer who has, given the above information, proven to be quite an anomaly. You should start looking for a new coach IMO.

Bama!!!
Ehhhhh....it depends on who's perspective you're viewing from.

If he doesn't improve next year ill agree. But to say this season is disappointing when I(and most OM fans) expected 8 wins is asinine. Georgia is just as disappointing with the longest tenured HC in the SEC at a Big 6 school. Look in the mirror dumbass

I've already stated that this has been a disappointing year for us in this thread, but given the situation and the fact that 3 of our losses have come to 3 teams currently in the top 6, the only disappontment I have is the Vandy loss. Even if we were to lose to Tech it would be with a QB in his first start during a rivalry game.
All I'm saying is that, in my eyes, when you return the most starters in the conference with 5 teams in your division worse than they were the year before and your coach is in his 2nd year, it's a bigger disappointment than it seems at first glance.
