Yep. Bama's weakness is on the outside while LSU's is up the middle. LSU's strength plays into A&M's strength whereas LSU's weakness cost them against Alabama.

Wrong. Evans still goes ham IMO. Kirkpatrick ain't there any more.

right, it was 34-10 only because LSU was dirty

I didn't say that was the only reason.

I'd say that's as accurate of a statement as you can make comparing the two.
We need a VERY good MLB which we've had the past few years with Sheppard and Minter to be an elite defense. We have Welter this year lol

JFF had a bad game, can't a man have a bad game without that particular opponent being the GOAT defense?

There's a difference between having a bad game and being shook before the end of the first quarter.

Scoring no less than 41 all year and then scoring 10 is not just an off night.

I think it's a combination of the scheme, how the LSU CBs just stepped up, and that the Bama defense in September is not the same as the one taking the field now.
Also, Bama failed to take advantage of their superiority on the LOS on offense to prevent a shoot out while LSU did the opposite. Bama is more than capable of replicating that type of asswhipping to aTm but they got lured into a shoot out.

Chavis has made a habit of bitch-slapping these offenses. I don't think its really up for debate that he's the best in the business at stopping them.
Other than the Cam year, Chavis has smoked Gus, Sumlin, Chip Kelly, and Dana Holgerson in his time at LSU.

LSU has recruited lighter but faster DEs. Matches up with A&Ms offense pretty well. Didn't let JM get to the outside, play tight coverage, and force JM to run up the middle right into our LBs.
Of course A&M never running the ball with an actual RB helps too

But Johnny "had a bad game" against LSU last year too. So it seems he's always "off" against LSU, but against every other team he's the best QB to ever play college ball.

It wasn't a bad game for Manziel. It was LSU punking him for 60 minutes.

Bama's overall defense is better this year. We have players that are better at certain positions. Like Robinson @ CB. Manziel made it easy by focusing too much on Evans. Evans is physical and I won't say he intimidates other CBs, but they're scared to get too physical back bc 90% of the time it gets called on the CB. When Robinson got physical back, and the refs were letting them play, it kind of nullified Evans.
Also, y'all's linebackers are better and although it was a joke, someone mentioned that welter was too slow to get juked therefore he was never really out if position when in pursuit.
We didn't get too much pass rush from out DL bc chavis made them play contain. It isn't a glorious role but it's how to stop a player like manziel.

This.
The Chavis defense at LSU, in one way or another, limits or shuts down these fast-paced, spread offenses.

Just keep JFF in front of you and in the middle of the field.

I stand corrected, JFF was apparently on his very best and got beat by GOAT defense.
