Miles success at LSU bodes well for Alabama and their life after Saban

Miles is proof that Saban's magic lingers around a program sometime after his departure. I've no doubt, Dooley could run off 2 to 3 consecutive titles immediately after Saban's retirement.

Doesn't hurt that they'd get to pick pretty much whichever coach they'd want.

I actually don't believe this. NO ONE wants to follow a legend, especially when he may be the GOAT. Impossible standards.

so then why will they promote a guy with no HC experience?

I think Jim Harbaugh will do a great job with the talent Saban is going to leave behind.

Dumb post just dumb!!! Saban did not have shite to do with our run in 11' dumb arse. Now go back and keep praying that Tenn can be half the program that LSU is

You are now an honorary HogHornet.

Who would want to follow the GOAT?
It won't be anyone you want. Look at Miami in the 90s-00s. You think Larry Coker was who they wanted?

I think the Vol was referring to 2007.

It has more to do with the talent in the state of Louisiana than Miles being a great coach. Alabama doesn't have the same talent so unless the future Bama coach can recruit LA/FL/GA there will be a drop off.

Or Nebraska after Osbourne. They were ready to fire Solich after a 10 win season.

Saban brought LSU to the forefront of college football, and you know it. They've done a great job of maintaining it, but if not for his success there LSU would be just another Ole Miss or Arkansas.

Well, whoever takes over will have a roster of 4/5 star players and a lot of good recruiting infrastructure.
That alone will win a lot of games.
I would argue that has been largely responsible for LSU's success post-Saban. I'm of the opinion they've won in spite of Les Miles. He's kept the recruiting going strong and the talent (along with a little luck) has produced overall good results.

There is going to be a drop off period. There will be a drop while Saban is there most likely. Alabama's level of success is approaching unprecedented status. That can't last forever even with Saban.
I will say that Alabama football had a pretty decent pedigree even before Saban. It's not like we are talking about a school that hadn't had success before.

While this is true, the pressure on this guy is gonna be incredible, unprecedented.
He will be walking into absolutely insane expectations.
