What is there about Saban that would make you even "a little surprised" if he were to leave? Honest question.
I mean, how could it surprise ANYONE if he were to leave?

lol

Saban is 1-2 in this game over the past 3 seasons. And 30 seconds away from being 0-3 over the last 3 November matchups. Yikes.

Why would you limit it to past three seasons and why are you ignoring 21-Zereaux?

Saban has one big move left in him. I will go down and say there is 0 chance he finishes his career at Bama. It is what he does people. But I can understand all the butthurt Bama fans on this topic.

Recent history seems appropriate.

Not ignoring it. Saban is 1-0 in postseason games against LSU. It is what it is - a flukey game that never happened before and will never happen again. But Bama and LSU hopefully will always play in early November every year.

OK, then Saban is 2-0 the last two times he faced LSU. There. That is more recent history

Well, he's not 52 anymore like the last time he left a premium college job for the next challenge. He's 62 now, he has a grandchild to be born in Tuscaloosa in December (found out about the baby coming in May - not January), and he's been at Bama 40% longer than he's been at any other job.

At some point, EVERYONE has a final job. Based on how long he's been at Bama, what he's created at Bama, and the legacy opportunities that exist for him at Bama, that's why some would be surprised if he left.

Pretty much this. I don't care about Saban one way or the other, but to act even the least bit surprised that he's flirting with the idea of going somewhere else is downright naive.

Maybe he stays. Maybe he goes. But his history shows that he denies, and then leaves.

What I don't like in all of this is the precedent it's setting in terms of coaches' pay. Wasn't all that long ago when the $2M coach was incredible. Now we're talking about $10M? That's unsustainable, and bad for the game.

wow. Sometimes I forget how upset the LSU fans still are about 21-0, then I read something like this. Very sad post. Hope you get over it one day, buddy.

Please, please, please, PLEASE. Let the idiot longhorns hire Saban. That opens up the SEC Weat in the short term and will extend the longhorn sucky streak. A&M supports Saban to t. u.

IDGAF either way, but thank God again we're not joined at the hip to bevo.

If I were OU/baylor/tard, though, I'd be terrified.

Well of course. Bama fans were excited when Saban left LSU. It's common sense to want a conference rival to be weakened.
