SEC vs. rest of country reminds me of Rider Cup.

Basically you have the SEC or US and then every other country in Europe banding together hoping to bring us down.
7 in a row. We are lucky really that we did not cannibalize each other more. There is no doubt who is the best conference - but I was always afraid we would end up with no undefeateds and miss out.
Even if someone else wins the Natty - what they will never understand is its not all about whether you can beat the SEC team. Many teams could win on any given day. Not often but it can happen. Its more about getting there in the SEC. Injuries , tough games etc.
tOSU, Oregon, Noles - heck yea yall are good teams - but what would you do if you were in the SEC? Get beat up and rarely ever threaten the top. That is the deal, even if yall make it there.
The SEC Champ is the National Champ. Period. I decided this about 12 years ago, when the SEC just took the athletes and the game to another level.

Although this takes away Bamas 2011 - Bama still has plenty of Championships that add TO that total with this formula.

Hmmm... 2 shitty big 12 teams seem to be doing fine.
I'm sure three teams at the top of their respective conferences would suck though.

A better comparison would be the NFC vs the AFC from 1984-1996. The AFC usually had better QB play and more explosive offenses but the NFC teams always won because they were way more physical with stronger defenses and running games that grounded teams to dust. The SEC is the NFC of the '80s. The rest of the country is the AFC. Oregon is like the Buffalo Bills teams from the early '90s. They're very talented but they're also sloppy and prone to error and physical teams can push them around and force them into making mistakes.
