Next time you go back to Fort Fresh, go to La Huerta's on Garrison and try their white cheese dip.
I come up once a year for Christmas Honors. Would be a good lunch plan afterwards!

That mex place that's in the mid whatever mall - by the container store etc has some awesome cheese dip- only had it once but still drool over the thought sometimes.
That's Cantina Laredo. Kinda pricey but pretty good place and yes their cheese dip is amazing. Brownings in the heights has 3 different types and all were pretty good if memory serves me right.

I just bought a home in Capitol View. So now that is the best place in LR.
Also, Taqueria Karina on 65th street is the truth. Maybe my favorite. The queso/quacamole is on point.

Casa Manana on Cantrell is my personal favorite. Good queso, and the best chips you can find.

65th street is awesome man. Where else can you buy scratch n' dent appliances, sign your kid up for Filipino taekwondo, and eat awesome mexican food in the same shopping center?
Those chips man. I don't know if it's on the menu at Cantrell, but over in the River Market Casa Manana, they'll make you nachos with those chips and queso. I get the carnitas ones and they are something awesome.

That sounds pretty good. I'll have to check next time. I've been tempted a few times to ask for just a bag of those chips.

I'd like to talk about cheese dip today.

For the best of both worlds ... velveeta/rotel cheese dip with some of the flavors of Mexico Chiquita's dip, make velveeta/rotel cheese dip as usual and add:
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tbsp chili powder

Agreed. I can't eat just plan velveeta and rotel anymore. Have to have some cumin, at a minimum.
