Because if the money was given and paid back during the summer then it really is a non-issue.

I'm going back to the soccer board.

Marcell Dareus received benefits totaling $1787.17

He had a 2 game suspension, paid $1787.17 to a charity, played the rest of the year then got drafted in the 1st round the following spring.

He wasn't receiving benefits from a staff member at UA

I don't feel like they should have to prove a negative. Otherwise the NCAA could never prove anything ever.

I'd imagine the same we offered to LC26 to draw him away from the wonderful land of Leeziana.

Has anyone actually read the article? It was less than $500. Is that not less than what others have received, repaid, and gotten 2 or so games suspension for?

Did the money come from a staff member in the other instances?

I agree that Dix should be kicked off the team, and I hope the assistant coach is fired and attached with a "show cause" provision. Rules are rules.

My unbiased opinion is that a coach will be fired, player will get a light suspension and have to donate some money to charity, and Saban will catch a little bit of heat for having an agents runner on staff.
