Honestly, Does Anyone Believe that the SEC Would Invite Texas?

Especially considering that they singlehandedly destroyed two great conferences. I understand that everything these days is about money.
But it would be very naive for the SEC to believe that Texas would come into the conference and play by the rules and expectations.
Why purposefully light the powder keg?

I know. I just can't help but wonder, especially when you see people post that the SEC should consider a Texas/Oklahoma package.
I see the Texas/Oklahoma reference everytime conference expansion is debated.

Obviously, but Texas comes with strings attached. You take the money and run if willing, but things have probably worked out better without the Horn Headache.

nothing but tu trolls Kills, they have been around screaming for attention since they lost their big brother to the SEC

Killz, you have to understand you were in the middle of conference realignment so you understand the nuances (GOR, media markets, SEC Network fee, Texas and Oklahoma politics, etc.).
Much of the "support" for these programs joining the SEC comes from SEC sidewalk fans that feel only helmet teams are valid so the SEC should redo its last move and add the Big 12's traditional helmet teams.
These same mouth-breathers also always push for Clemson and FSU.

Would be cool if it worked out but it won't. Would rather Texas over Oklahoma for sure though

They'll join when a train hops of the tracks and rolls down my street.

Hell no, I highly doubt it ever happens. But if it did & the SEC was to stay in the current West & East format
These two divisions could possibly work
West - East
Texas - Alabama
LSU - Georgia
OU - Florida
Arkansas - USC
Texas AM - Auburn
Ole Miss - Tennessee
Mizzou - Kentucky
MSU - Vanderbilt

I think if Texas wanted in as long as they could find a 16th team they would take them. You can't string arm a conference when Alabama, Georgia, Florida and LSU are in it. They all have such close athletic budgets that UT wouldn't be too far ahead. I have no doubt that these schools would easily match UT for a while. Texas isn't the brand it's was from 2009.

We don't want them. The West is already too crowded.
