What's the deal with Amari Cooper?

He has not looked great so far this season, it kind of worries me.

I think we are saving him in case we get in a game that turns out to be a real shootout.

I told my friend before the game I did not think we could win if it became a shoot out. I am glad I was wrong

Honestly, I too am a little surprised with his lack of production. It's only been two games though and others have played well so it's not that big of a deal yet. Hopefully, he and AJ get on the same page and he balls out rest of the year.
Another factor may be that when he was doing so well at the end of last year, White, Bell and OJ were not additional receiving options on the field.

He has had a few drops this year as well.

Give him time. With all the talent emerging around him his day is coming.

Maybe it's the ankle injury or just the soph slump.

Secondaries know who he is and are focusing more on him PLUS he has had a few drops.

sophomore slumps happen. Julio took a step back in his second year.
He'll be fine, but I would like to see them give him more chances down the field.

I think this is the answer. Also Soph slump

Cooper is seeing alot more attention from defenses this year. He's arguably the best WR in the country, so it's expected that he'll see roll over coverage from a safety. I also do not think he's 100% healthy either. He's been underwhelming to say the least.

Also agree. He's had a few drops, but sometimes it seems his and AJ's timing has been just off enough too. Glad to see others stepping up. And I know I've said it before, but I'm going to miss Norwood after this season.

Not worried about Cooper. He seems like he gets better as the season unfolds. He will be fine.

Not worried either. Lots of receivers stepping up so far he'll get on track before the season's out, and hopefully just in time for Nov.

Not concerned at all. He is obviously, in my opinion, AJ's favorite target, and will get the ball thrown to him. I think coordinators are focusing in on him with safety help. Our other Wide Outs just have to make them pay in order to get Cooper in better opportunities.

He has developed a really bad case of the drops. Already has like 4 or 5 in 2 games.

Slumps do happen, but Julio had to adjust from JPW to McElroy. McElroy threw bullets and had zero touch on his downfield passes, especially his first year. I love Gmac, but he wasn't the right type of QB for Julio to really flourish like he could have with someone like AJ throwing to him.
I'm not worried about him though. I really like what I've been seeing out of Norwood. He could be our go-to guy this year.

I saw him getting doubled a few times yesterday, sure that's already been said

Exactly what I was going to say.
I just hope this slump doesn't last the whole year. Fortunately though, we have much more talent at receiver to take up the slack than we did in 09.
