Was Alabama's O-Line THE all time greatest in history?

I'm by no means saying they are. At all. But with all these ESPN shows saying arguably and possibly and junk like that, I ask all the older fans what lines outside of Bama do compare from whatever time period. I guess including how decorated they were, on the field production, the works in the comparison as well.

Not even close. They were fantastic in the run game, but AJ was running for his life a good bit in passing plays. Fluker got beat so many times it's unreal last year in pass coverage.

Hyperbole is the most favorite tool of the media. Reggie bush was the best ever. Then tebow. Then cam had the best season ever. 11 lsu was the best team ever before the bowl.

Last years ol was awesome. Probably one of the best all-time zone run blocking lines ever. Pass pro really wasn't that great. AJ was forced into throwing the ball away a few times almost every game. Fluker will probably be moved to guard sooner rather than later. Last years line was great and the best in the nation but not best all-time.

It might have been one of the most successful lines but not the all time greatest.

1995 Nebraska. Never once got called for holding and never once gave up a sack.

Not going to give up many sacks when you run the option.

I don't know, but I think Barrett Jones was greatly overrated.

His awards say otherwise. He was a very disciplined player.

Barrett jones' biggest attribute was his ability to run the offense and read defenses. He was beaten physically many times but his intelligence for the game was just uncanny for a lineman.

Actually, all the awards would feed the idea that he was overrated. Underrated guys typically don't win awards.

Not sure if I should agree; however, you can point to last year to strengthen your case.
Teo and Manziel brought in numerous awards, but Manziel is no Cam Newton, and Teo was far from being the best defender or linebacker in college football last season. That fake girlfriend got him so far though.

But they didn't give up any. And Frazier, the starter, dropped back and threw a pass 163 times in 1995.
