One of the most visited pages on the entire site... neck and neck with the UGA Board.
I know there has been some questions/concerns about how people are added to boards. As of now, only Circus Child and I can add users to a board. When we started off, we tried to only admit fans of that school onto a particular team board. Over time, some may have been added that were fans of other schools, but we have not had to kick someone off a team board due to them flaming or being a problem.
We want the team boards to individually evolve at their own pace. That being said, I don't see how letting quality users on to a board can be a bad thing. Having fans of other schools is what helped the Tiger Rant (on TigerDroppings.com) thrive in its initial years. As long as flamers are dealt a heavy hand, it is nice to get others' opinions.
I have picked some Bama fans to help moderate this board. They were chosen because they are level-headed and have the board's best interest in mind. I figured it would sit better if the board was tended to by Bama fans and not LSU fans like myself...although I will have a presence as needed.
Thanks for all of you that visit this place...
Anyhow, I welcome your thoughts...

Agree 100%. We haven't had any problems here yet imo, unless I missed it.

Hello Chicken.
I and I think most on here welcome fans of other sites. We think it makes this board better and look forward to the additions of rival posters.
The only thing we wish was different was the way those posters are determined. I have been told that there will be no vote because the BB admins are worried about efriends becoming a problem. I feel that not having a vote has caused efriends to be the problem. I respect and like all the admins on this board, but I don't feel they should have an elevated say on who is allowed in and who isn't. They are the admins, their job is to enforce board rules and to keep things civil, they have done a great job of that, I just feel they have over stepped their powers in deciding among themselves who will and wont post in here.

It's not a bad thing at all, and I don't think a majority of us are opposed to having them here. The only issue I think a lot of us have with it is the lack of board-wide discussion on the issue. Most (if not every) of the other boards have openly discussed the matter and subsequently voted on it. We just never had that here. Regular posters just shouldn't be surprised to see opposing fans here, as it happened yesterday.
I know they don't want lurkers coming out of nowhere opposing it, but the truth is that this is a board for Alabama fans- it is as much their board as a poster with 50,000 posts.
The admins here do a fine job, but I just have to take side against the way this was done.
The issue has little to nothing to do with whom was added and how many: it's about the process

I don't really have anything to add other than this is a great site and I think flaming UT on the SECR should be rewarded, not punished.
Goodnight, and good luck.

there really isn't a clean, easy way to do it right now...sure, we could develop some process but we have a long list of development to-do's, and I am not sure if a sophisticated voting process for user admission to a team board would be at the top of the list...just being honest.
Let me mull some ideas that have been swimming inside my Chicken head...

Chicken, from the way it has been explained to me, the process is the admins recommend posters to you they would like to be added to the board, and you make the final decision and either add them or dont add them. Is that correct?

yes...that is correct...I don't particularly care for the manual nature of that process...

So, we don't want to change any part that has to do with you. We just want to decide as a board who we recommend, and who we don't.

Not sure what you mean by that.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I don't really have a problem with how things are being done but others do and I'm glad that there is work being done to resolve it.

I'll send a Walmart gift card for the value of one delicious case of natty light, which you can consume while watching Bama vs. VT
