And nevermind Texas might be a bigger state than Alabama. Worthless stat is worthless.

and yet the State of Alabama owns the past four Crowns. That is one hell of a ROI.

Of course they have more money, but do you really think they are going to be willing to offer Saban the type of money it'll take to out bid Bama? It'll take somewhere in the $20 mil a year range to outbid us. Do you seriously think they'll be willing to go that far?

I don't, I think this is all silliness. He decided the NFL is not for him. How much money does he need? He has UA set up now, and with the first major division playoff coming soon his odds at UA are pretty good.

What it means is, Bama will have to make Saban the first $10 million per year college coach.
Not a problem. Money well spent (not to mention he's making over $6MM already).

if you think your athletic department can even pony up 15 million per year to keep saban. Athletic departments can't suddenly adjust a coach's salary 10+ million dollars and not be in a hole. Certainly Alabama has a rabid fanbase that can raise as much as anyone in the SEC but no freaking way you can go over 10 million per year. Hell no one can except maybe Texas, maybe.

Wait, some people think Saban will actually leave Alabama for Texas? I think Texas will have to offer at least 12 mil before UA even begins to think about not matching it. Even then, Saban isn't going to leave over one or two million.

Aren't we already paying him over $6mil now? Our athletic department brings in a shite load of money. What's an extra $4mil each of the next 3 years?

I enjoyed how a body building page came up when I clicked on the web sites "About Us" page.

Nick Saben is not going to tu at any price. He doesn't fit their culture and they are now at a disadvantage to A&M, even with Saben.
The old saying of you can wish in one hand and shite in the other and see what fills up the quickest applies here.

The people that think Saban gives a frick about money are dumb as shite. He's not leaving Bama, and he wouldn't have left LSU if he'd known that he would hate the NFL.

I'm confused, is he going to Texas after he leaves the Cowboys or the Browns?
Posted on 8/2/13 at 7:28 am to 615tider
He's not leaving. Saban is ego, not money, driven. Winning at Texas does nothing to stroke his ego that he can't get at Bama.

Desperate Longhorns and desperate. Keep dreaming.

A fitness center at a private residence named nick saban? sounds legit.

Alabama could easily go up to 10 million a year. But after that is the return worth the investment? Texas already has a hard time selling 5 million a year to their administration, and that was after winning a title in 2005 and competing for them in 2008 and 2009. How are they going to sell 10+ million a year to those same administrators. Regardless, the only place he's going is Lake Burton in Georgia.

Not sure if Saban's in it strictly for the money, but you really don' t want to get into a bidding war with them.
texass has already called once and the answer was "not interested" even with an open checkbook. Enjoy 8 more years of Saban at Alabama.

There will be no bidding war, because Nick Saban is not coaching for money - he's coaching for legacy. That's a fact. And that should scare the shite out of every fan base in the SEC.
