What are you using to calculate these distances?? Google Maps is not agreeing with these distances...

Straight line distances, not driving distances. Driving distances would make everyone's numbers even larger.

The average distance the 12 SEC teams were traveling before expansion was 358 miles. Compare that to where it falls in regards to aTm and Missouri.

Jesus, I'd hate to be an A&M fan looking to visit away games. Brutal driving schedule when 309 miles is the short trip of the season.

That's only a straight line distance too. Actual driving could be close to 400 miles

I would venture to guess that the majority of aTm fans that travel to away games are alumni anyways and have the means to fly.

Food for thought.

Cool map. It accentuates the giant footprint of the new SEC.

Yep. Auburn in the west is just silly when you look at the map.

why is alabama vs Tennessee so special, who the f cares anymore. I don't see any crying over Alabama vs UGA, that would be a much better yearly game and rivalry. Move Auburn to the east, give Tennessee a much better rival game with Arkansas, it will be completive and let alabama play Auburn.

I would have picked Mizzou over Florida for the #2 spot, so I learned something new.

If you compare just East/West opponents I'd guess Mizzou would top the list, but that just says they belong in the West.

So basically, there are only two schools A&M can travel to within 6 hours.

Showed you what they gave up coming to this conference. That's a pretty big burden to ask from fans.

That was my only complaint about moving to the SEC: actual students wouldn't be able to attend many games. But then I remembered I'm an old fart and the SWC was what I went to school with. Half the Big 12 teams were also out of reach for A&M students.

If you take out the 4 newest members of the conference, the points on the map make a script A.

Just kills you that Mizzou is as much a member as Arkansas after just a year, doesn't it?

little kid, I've been around since stallings going to nearly all the games.

I love singing Rammer Jammer in the great erector set stadium with you hillbillies there to allow me to serenade. I'll see you again next year.
