I say no. There is an SEC Rant board and SEC Recruiting board to discuss with other people. You can also read AL board to get any info u needed. Also if u really want to discuss u can ask for access on their board. I just don't understand why we need to add that here. This is really the only AU board on the web right now where I can get level headed non homer AU discussion. Don't see why we wanna ruin that

Fun fact:
For posters with under 1,000 posts during their career, the tally was as follows:
Yes: 2
No : 15

Not sure why post count matters so much. I don't have the time to post on here much but I read it daily as I am sure others do. I think our votes matter the same

Votes counted the same way but clearly the measure lost so I don't need to go through and count them all. Post count was irrelevant to the weighting on the discussion
Point I am making is that I believe that post count does have an effect on your voting preferences in this situation. Most people who have <1000-2000 votes tend to stay on the Auburn board. That means that the only time they have experiences outside of this board is looking at the rant and seeing constant flaming and I doubt most guys read through the threads.
I would argue that most people with >3000, especially >10,000 post on other boards enough to understand that no everyone is a troll (just most people) They believe that they can find quality people who won't flame and will only contribute. Also, they realize that most people with access to other boards use it sparingly simply to add things when relevant anyways.

Maybe so. I used to read the rant all the time but there's not much on there anymore of any value. Most of the names on the list to add over here are ppl I see egg on the flame wars so I didn't see the value in bringing that over here. If I want real info from another point of view I check out the recruiting threads for UGA and AL. U learn where they think they stand

Sorry if you have said but why is this so important to you? The SEC Rant and SEC Recruiting boards are there for you to interact with other fans. No need to let them here. I don't know if it's something TD will ever do but it seems to me the better solution would be allow PMing so you can interact with whatever fan you want without the combustability of fans going to other boards to post.

They will not say it, but it's all about them getting access to the Bama board. Some of the yes voters already have access and some of the others are being talked about over there about giving them access.
And the post count and how long someone has been here means nothing. Many long time posters are against this.
Honestly, I have no hate for Bama fans, but this is our place in my opinion. I don't do the SEC Rant anymore, I gave it up in 2010. I do mingle with some good Bama fans on the Fark board. Good people, but I prefer to keep it outside our board.

Oh yeah, the people trying to get access to the bama forum.
So people that don't post a lot should have it held accountable to people that post countless useless posts and who pad their post count with replies that have nothing more than an emoticon or a stupid gif?
Can't believe you wasted your time looking at everyone's post count.

Nevermind me as a voting Rep. I am not educated enough on other posters. If we do this though I think we should have Rep votes with at least 75% to let an outsider in.

There's no reason for this. If you want an Alabama fan's opinion on something, we have the SECR and the SEC recruiting board. We already have enough posting activity on the board, so it's not like we just really need the extra traffic either.

As a sidenote, after looking through that voting list in the sticky thread I noticed several names I didn't recognize. I've always wondered how many folks look through these threads and don't usually post.

Did you not read any of his rationale about how the Alabama fans posted information that you don't find on the recruiting board or rant and they were cordial about it in their thread?
Look, I don't want to go to the SEC recruiting board or the Alabama board to get information about AUBURN recruits. I want to look in our thread and get the full info from all sides
Posted on 7/29/13 at 9:47 am to GenesChin
The vote is not even close to a split much less an apporval so this thread should be anchored.

Then our recruiting thread needs to be on the recruiting board.

Oh yeah, the people trying to get access to the bama forum.
It has already been pointed out multiple times by both Aubies and Bammers alike that access to one board by one fanbase will not guarantee or even suggest authorization on the other for posters. If guys posted their thoughts here, I wouldn't have to go tothe Bama board. I have no interest in chatting with them, just want their information and to have access to question them about it.
Also, just like I ask questions of Ellitor and anyone else that posts stuff in the recruiting thread, I would like to be able to do that somewhere else. See if there was something that was forgotten, that I missed or to clarify. Don't know why that is criminal

How dare you insinuate all I do is post emoticons or stupid gifs. I believe my gifs are quite clever Serious note, I think it is more indicative of their SECRant posting habits and experience with other fan bases. Most people who don't leave the Auburn board probably have not seen posters that are rational because they are few and far between. Doesn't mean they aren't there though

Took about 2 minutes. Just scrolled till I found a post count <1000 and took a count

I would agree with this if the SEC recruiting board didn't turn to shite already

I just think it's a slippery slope if you start allowing any access at all. This is the only Auburn message board I can stomach to post on. I'm not going to agree with allowing Alabama fans access because there IS a possibility that it could change the nature of the board. Again, we already have boards to discuss things with opposing fans, and it isn't difficult to pick out the posters that know what they're talking about and the ones that don't.
