Because they're totally not using any of that $110 million to add...

Belle, I am aware of what you are saying but I was pointing out who will pay that bill. The added seating has been vague because it was going to be expensive. Like when they wanted to build the on campus basketball arena and the listed the "proposed" Blue White donations that had dropped the last 0 which would indicate it would be substantially cheaper to get seats than it actually is. They also failed to disclose the Pitinerr Areeener would seat substantially less that Rupp did.

The big issue is wanting millions more in "donations" while letting 1,000 - 2,000 lower seats in Rupp to sell each year to federal, state, and local politicians without the "required" donation everybody else in the lower arena pays. Say they just got 500 of those seats to cough up a grand each (well below what others pay) that would be an extra 500K per year. If they doubled that charge (still below what others pay) and got to 1,000 seats that would be an extra 2 million a year. You get the picture as the university and taxpayers are subsidizing the political folks.

I haven't read the thread but I assume Kentucky has taken some razzing for that drawing... looks like Kilz did it on MS Paint and will contract with the Aggie's architecture students

is it just me or is mizzou being really, really, really, seriously optimistic? that stadium looks incredible but, 100k? I realize joining the sec will make a difference though but, are they seriously going to consistently outdraw ole miss, ky, msu, ark, etc?

Why does Ole Miss' not have an expected completion date? Have they started on the new Sad Pad yet? Have they even started raising money for the football renovations? Have y'all actually sold out a game in the last 5 years? Gonna be a tough sell to the state legislature.

So maybe fill it once every 4 or 5 years?

I disagree with both of you...With the rapid growth of Oxford's population as well as the student population, I don't think it's farfetched to think that we would be able to fill Vaught Hemingway on a regular basis. The size of Oxford triples on gameday and with a growing fanbase, there is more room for expansion than people would think. It's not like we are a Knoxville, Athens, Baton Rouge, or Tuscaloosa where a spike in population of 20,000 people would make little difference in attendance, especially in larger stadiums...20,000 would literally double the size of Oxford and would probably have a positive effect on attendance.

With that being said, I don't see us filling 10,000 more seats for the time being but by 2020?? I think that if Freezus doesn't self-destruct like Nutt in the next 4 years, we will definitely be able to do that.

Possibly 100,000 by 2050...Bama here we come

We are abut 6 million short, but I'm hearing it could be in by 2016. BTW, "Sad Pad"? Really?

Yes, we have raised 50 million so far.

Kyle Field Video Including Photo Gallery

This new stadium is a place a lot of top recruits will want to come play. Also building a nutrition center and the non-football athletes will get their own new S&C facility.

Ole Miss raises the funds first and doesn't borrow the money. Once the money is all in, then they will start.
