7-5 with victories over Vandy and MSU has been my water mark pretty much the entire offseason... But what if we drop one more game ? Say at home to Mizzou... Or in Starkville on Thanksgiving night ? Would a 3-5 SEC record with victories over only Arky, Vanderbilt and one moe team be a step backwards ? That's a 1-3 conference record in VHS... Makes me kinda angry to type that... At 6-6 we'd be spending New Year's here in Memphis or over in Nashville for our bowl game... Opinions ?

Would be extremely disappointed. There is no reason we should lose to Mizzou, MSU, Arky, Auburn or LSU. I could see us losing to Vandy, but not those other 5. We lose two, Bama and AM(unless Manziel just goes into meltdown mode this year).

Honestly, any of the top 4 teams can win the West. There is no powerhouse this year. Bama lost a lot...maybe their young guys will have growing pains, like Calipari's team did this year at UK.

No I would not be disappointed. We should be much improved from last season, but we still lack good SEC depth at a lot of positions. An injury in one or two key spots, and we will struggle this season. I certainly think we should have a 7 or 8 win season, but based on the circumstances I could be ok with a 6-6 season.

I would definitely be disappointed.

But this
quote:

An injury in one or two key spots, and we will struggle this season
is different than just finishing 6-6.

And I know the whole "well 2 years ago we were 2-10. 2 years ago I would have killed for 6-6" but that was 2 years ago. To become a better team you have to have higher expectations.

Here is my rankings for a key injury free season.

6-6 disappointed
7-5 dang but at least we finished better than last year.
8-4 nice season lets get another top 10 recruit and come back stronger nxt year.
9-3 hell yeah. Better watch out for us next year.

Again as I have said all along I expect 8-4 or 9-3

I agree... You would think the spring game would've put more peoples' expectations in check but it didnt for some reason... I mean, we couldnt even play a damn game really.

The only way I would not be disappointed is if Wallace, Morris, Mathers, Moncrief, both Nkemdiche bros, DT, Hooks, CJ, Marry, Sawyer, Prewitt, and Elston went down....or if Sowell sits by me at one of the games...

Come on man you are setting yourself up for disappointment. 10-2 is possible in a perfect world but not realistic. We could beat lsu but it is no where near a lock like you say.

I'd be slightly disappointed with 6-6, fine with 7-5, and happy with 8-4

It's easy to lose perspective with the momentum we have, but we still have a very tough schedule and a thin roster.

said teams we ought to beat, not will beat. if we play our best guys and they play their best guys, we beat all those teams.

No. Cause to be honest losing to msu is just losing another game. Would hate to hear u guys talk but in the big picture we would be showing improvement which is all that matters.

I want at least 7 wins this year. Ole Miss doesn't really lose bowl games so that would be a 8 win season going into what would be the deepest team Ole Miss has had since the 60's next year.

A win over TAMU looks better than a win over MSU.

No. Some peoples expectations in this thread are some dumb shite. No way we should have won 6 games last year (and been two 4th downs away from 8) at all. OM fans need to check they self before they rek they selfs.

Please explain why we shouldn't have won 6? Are you saying we should have won less than that?

Cause if so that's bull shite we could have won 9 games. I understand that things happen, that's what happened to us last year we caught bad breaks in 3 games and we lost all three.

Then look at Uga we were up 10-0 in 2nd and we just ran out of juice. Then there is Bama we have them one of their toughest games of the season. The only game we were straight up manhandled in with no chance was Texas.

I agree we shouldn't have won 6 games last year we should have won 7 or 8.

But you know what when we win 9 games this year I will proudly be able to say I thought we could and look what we did. And even if we only win 6 well shite we only win 6 but I'm still there cheering.

I believe in this team and Freeze.

All of this is some red and blue, koolaid sucking bullshite that leads to "hot seat" talk in year 3 of a new coaches tenure, broseph.

We over the frick achieved in year one. I'm happy about it, so are you, so is Freeze and the staff. Awesome. Eggbowl win, bowl game, stomped a shite hole in Pitt, and signed a MONSTER class on NSD.

Now, let's come back the frick down to earth and get some perspective. We had an "IN" with several of our top signees. We beat a BADLY down Aub and Arky team. We smoked MSU because Mullen was over confident in his defenses ability to stop the read-option and we smoked a pissed off Pitt team who didn't want to get off the bus at the bowl game.

Bottomline, it is horseshite to expect anything more than 7 wins in 2013. We are still too young and WAY to shallow at a shite TON of positions and there no way around that. The rest of the league woke the frick up after last year and we ain't catching ANYONE asleep this year.

Here's a promise, I'm getting all up on this bitch on 11/28 and I'm gonna slash and burn all you motherfrickers who have the audacity to be pissed off about winning 6 or 7 this season.

This staff needs 4 fricking years to get their shite together. GIVE THEM THAT frickING TIME without getting your panties in a wad because we didn't win 8 or 9 in season gotdamn #2, aight?

Now this is some solid shite and I'm all about it.
