I'm still going to all the games, but not sure how much longer. The parking is getting more difficult/expensive and traffic is a nightmare. On top of all that it seems that the games are getting pushed back further and further. We had 3 kickoffs at 7PM or later last year. That's awful when you have a 3 hour drive home (after you get out of the traffic).

-Shitty visitors seating for away games (Alabama, Georgia are notable ones)
-Have to make more money to pay off IRS's lavish trips to Hawaii, Cancun, Las Vegas, etc.
-Own 80" 3D-LED 240MHz Samsung TV.
-Getting older... hit early 40's.
-Wife gave birth to multiples last year.
-Bush's fault.
-Don't feel like driving/flying to Baton Rouge 6-7 times during the fall.
-Found other hobbies that take precedence over college football like trying to eradicate the deer and wild hog population in south Georgia.
-Piss bombs just aren't as fun to throw anymore with Napalitano's "If you see something, report something" agenda taking hold in major sporting events.
-Did I mentioned the 80" inch 3D-LED 240Mhz Samsung TV?

I don't have to put up with drunk, obnoxious buttholes at my house. It is always 70 degrees a d there isn't a bad seat in the joint. Price of tickets is why most people will not go but the reason I listed would be my guess as runner up.

Just easier and more relaxing and almost as much fun to just invite some buddies over, fire up the grill, get drunk, and watch the game on the big screen.

Especially if it's a lower end game.

I'd rather save my money from not buying season tickets, and go to one high end road game per season.

location and convenience

even when I'm in Louisiana it isn't necessarily worth it to buy some scalped tickets and spend 4-6 hours at the stadium instead of just watching the game from the convenience of a living room or other location with better amenities.

I love the Tiger Stadium atmosphere but I'm not in my 20s anymore and it isn't the same going back as it was when I was going with a bunch of other students

Me and buddy used to go to 4-5 games a year, now we just wait it out and invest everything in the hopes Bama makes the BCS title game. I know, we are assholes.

Hey, it's worked a couple times.

Add this to games against the Sam Houston States of the world, etc.

I am a season ticket holder, but I generally give away my tickets to some of the lame non-conf games.

The SEC going to a 9 game schedule will help a lot.

I've been lucky recently,

$80 for bama Texas ATM
$400 for bama ND

Never plan on getting on a wait list for season tix. Just go when I can find tix where I can.

SEC fan experience survey: Why are some of you attending fewer football games?

"While we want to support our team, we also go for the entertainment aspect. Having Tiger Stadium empty out at half-time leaves 1.5 hours of very little stadium atmosphere/excitement that can only occur when the stadium is mostly full."

Not true for big OOC and SEC games. e.g. Alabama last year, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida in '11, etc.

I enjoy attending games live, but there are a ton of factors that go into why I don't do it as often as I used to.

For me one of the biggest reasons is time. I live in Virginia now, that is a long-arse haul. But even if I were within a few hours of Auburn it would still be an all-day event to attend a game. I can watch a game on TV in a few hours and do other stuff during the day. To attend a game live requires driving, parking, tailgating, the game itself, waiting for traffic to die down, etc.

Expense. With almost every game on tv, I can watch for pretty much no marginal cost, whereas going to games requires buying a ticket (prices on tix have gone up a lot in recent years), gas to get there, parking, eating a few meals out, etc. It all adds up.

Options. With HDTV, bigger screens, and coverage of most games it is easier and more comfortable than ever to watch at home. You can actually see what is going on better. Bathrooms are right there. You can pause the game and get a drink/snack.

Really, I think the atmosphere is the main thing that going live has over watching on tv.

Nailed it. All stadium experiences are not equal. Went to Texas last year for the aggie game. College station is horribly boring and the atmosphere was pathetic. The tailgating was the worst I have ever seen in the SEC. Big letdown from all the 12th man crap I've heard about. However, I would travel to Gainesville or Athens for every away game if I could.

All UF games are on TV. Can't justify driving 10 hrs to see them play FIU or Bowling Green when it's on TV. Big games are better in person but I just don't go to the others any more.

Didnt ole miss once provide electricity in the grove? or did they charge?

There are some incedible tailgating setups out there now

Auburn, besides the pay tailgate tents(tailgate guys) they now have outside the stadium, is offering indoor/outdoor suites for tailgating. but they cost a small fortune

Time, Travel, and expense add up. Even just living in New Orleans to travel to Baton Rouge for the USC game last year was a pain. Tailgate all day, watch the game, sit in traffic for an hour just to travel 10 miles to the other end of Baton Rouge.

Have season tickets for the Saints, more of an NFL fan so that turn around from a LSU night game to a noon kickoff in New Orleans is hell.

It's tough to justify $500 a ticket even for a big game when I can watch in HD for free

Ticket prices and finding a hotel. Can't even find a room anymore. If I go, I go to the 2 best games and leave the family at home.
