New minor league team coming to the Mississippi gulf coast with some BP $$$..Supposed to seat about 7,000 with room for 14,000 at concerts..Directly across the street from the Beau Rivage
The top names for the team include the blues, bacon and schooners(yes, all sound terrible IMO)
Can't wait till the Montgomery Biscuits and Biloxi Bacon square off. It will be the "Breakfast Sandwich Classic"

What classification and league are they supposed to be? That park looks sweet

They should be the Biloxi "WaffleHousers".

Double A
Yeah it should be pretty solid for revenue as it is basically on the beach and right down the street from several casinos

Yeah, can't figure out why those 'bama folk don't just don't keep the money in state and travel to that indian casino in Atmore
Oh well, we'll take the money

There are so many other better names than the ones being mentioned
It's like minor league team names HAVE to be tacky

The lower classifications try really hard to keep it relevant to the locale. And with that in mind....
Biloxi Pit Bosses. It says "we are professionals, but if you frick around we won't hesitate to drag you out back and shatter your kneecaps"

I would think it would be a bit small, but it's in a pretty awesome location for fans. They can just walk to the game from their hotels/shuttle.
In 20 years I think D'Iberville will be larger than Biloxi though. That place is exploding with growth, including a 550 million dollar casino that will rival the Beau(the CanCan)

Indian casinos in Alabama are only allowed to have 'electronic bingo' - which is simply a slot machine without the pull arm because the only legal form of gambling in the state is bingo.
No class 3 anywhere in the state, so no table games for the indians either.

The Alabama Taliban will never allow casinos.

Me so happy. I live like 7 minutes from where this will be.
I hope we're called the Landmassers

frick. Word is that the team moving will be the only minor league team within 50 miles of me (Huntsville Stars).
Shame too, because once every on Redstone Arsenal gets fricked with Sequestration, they'll be a lot more free time to go watch games.
