Are LSU and Bama destined to play each other for the ship each year?

Once the playoffs start, are we going to always end up playing each other for the championship? Is there a rule that prohibits teams from the same conference from playing each other in the semis? We'd have to play each other in the semis to prevent the matchup in the championship game more than 5 out of 10 years.

If LSU can keep up with our pace, then sure.

It just depends on final seedings. 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, with winners advancing to the title game

Of course. Nothing will change again in the conference ever. Every team will stay exactly the same as now from here to eternity.
You haven't been following football very long have you?

This thread has the slightest hint of Bama dick riding. Amirite?

Considering that in the past 5 years LSU would have been picked for the playoffs only once, I highly doubt LSU and Alabama will meet in the playoffs very often.
Contrast that with Alabama who would have made the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years.

Because there wasn't a time a few years ago when we had tougher schedules than you?

This is obviously a silly post but it brings up a serious question on seeding. I think it was obvious the selection committee was enacted kind of as a concession for SEC fatigue, and to bring a human touch to creating matchups the public wants to see. If two SEC teams are clearly among the four best, I wonder if the committee members will feel pressure to put them in the same bracket to avoid another SEC showdown championship?

I agree with this too. I wish everyone on the board would quit consisting everything will be LSU Bama from now on.

There will only be one SEC team picked for the playoffs every year.

Not if your players keep getting arrested.

Your fanbase whines about everything under the sun.

Bama fans can be pretty whiny too. You know, like banning an entire fanbase for a regular season game that happened 2 seasons ago.
