Why do females always reveal their gender in their screen name?

Seems like every female poster on this site has some form of "girl" or "chick" or a derivative in their handle. Why? Are you trying to be edgy by being a woman on a predominantly male web site, or do you just want the attention and hard legging that comes with it?

They probably just want it to be known they are female so they dont get talked to like they are just one of the guys.
