I am graduating in August with a degree in mechanical engineering. I want to spend my 20s in a bad arse town while I have nothing tying me down. I am pretty much open to anywhere in America. My criteria is:
1. Fun things to do
2. Outdoorsy type attractions
3. Good night life / music scene
4. Lots of young babes
Sell me on a city. TIA

Not trying to be a dick but this is probably the most overdone topic on this board. Check out the Savannah thread. They also had a really long one pretty recently on best place to live in the south.

Nah you're not being a dick, I figured there were threads about this but I am inefficient with the search function. Thanks

I've always been open to living overseas. And finding an Australian wife wouldn't be too bad.

Definitely pursue something outside of the US. A couple of years abroad would be fun. Australia, New Zealand would be great starting points or possibly China.

Singapore FTW. Seriously

Isn't it pretty damn hard to be allowed to move to Australia these days?

I've actually heard great things about Singapore as well.

If I were to move outside the US, it would be Singapore. But I'm never going to move overseas because I like this country too much

Come to Fayetteville, plenty of opportunities and our unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the country.
College town, so plenty of hot bitches and a killer music scene, Wakarusa every summer too. Mulberry Mountain is only 40 minutes away.
Northwest Arkansas is one of the most scenic areas in the country, we have America's first national river, the Buffalo, and plenty of great camping spots within an hour of Fayetteville.

To become a citizen of Australia is very expensive, last time I went there you needed $100,000 in the bank to become a citizen. They do this because of the large number of backpackers that go to Australia and never leave.

Dallas is actually one of my top picks right now. Doesn't hurt that I'm a lifelong huge Cowboys fan.

He has obviously never been to Arkansas

Fayetteville is Fayetteville and Arkansas is Arkansas.
Huge difference.

Charlotte. Large metropolis (by Southern standards), wealthy and growing. Still retains an Old South air, but with modern sentiments. Distinct areas downtown are basically yuppie heaven (#3). Pro sports teams, the mecca of racing (if you're into that). About every outdoor activity you can think of within reach (camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, lakes, mountains, etc.). 4 actual seasons (as opposed to just green and brown). Big decision on where to go, but Charlotte is worth a little investigation.
