You're absolutely right. He was very smart with his decision.

He'll be good next year, but def needed to stay. Marshawn left b/c he's old and has a history of injuries. Only reason to leave is if guaranteed money or injury history

How am I "uninformed?" I know exactly who both Alabama and LSU are returning. Alabama has more returning talent. LSU has more incoming talent. The only one of LSU's recruits who I expect to be immediate-impact, however, is Martin. The other guys will need some development. Alabama will be better next year imo.

I am calling it right now:
LSU will win the SEC regular season and go to the sweet 16.

Sweet Sixteen would be a big disappointment for UK and UF next season.

Enjoy playing for third.

Yeah. That's not happening.

On the Bama vs. lsu argument, I think Bama has the advantage in guard play (even if LSUs PG and SG are very good, just undersized), LSU has a very large advantage in the paint.

Seriously?

Dude he's tall but he's not all world.

He won't be drafted this year anyway.

Good player. Not great. Can't shoot worth a dime. Needs better offensive moves.

but our incoming class is one of the best in the country. unlike football....one good recruiting class can turn everything around. Add to that The Irish Hammer returning and we staaaaaacked

We had the 5th ranked class on Rivals 2 years back. Doesn't always mean they'll produce right away. You have a good class, but it's not like it's UK-level or anything. Calm down...

I would say excited. Things are finally looking good. Last time LSU basketball was this excited was the 2009 SEC Championship...

LSU and Alabama are pretty even next season I think. We have a huge advantage in the post and Bama has an advantage with the guards.

Watching LSU and Alabama fans argue basketball is fricking hilarious though because both fanbases are filled with tards

This thread personifies this board. Just fricking awful.

1. We know he won't get drafted. Why opposing fanbases post this like it's some sort of slight on our team is beyond me. The fact of the matter is that we're returning an All-SEC guy that averaged around 14 and 9 last year.

2. Eight pages littered with attempts to downgrade our recruiting class. But but but Alabama had a good class once and it turned out to be mediocre so LSU's good class is just a total uncertainty because of that.

Give me a fricking break. This isn't football recruiting where a top class is still largely a total crapshoot from the recruiting ranking standpoint and it's rare to have a ton of immediate contributors. This is basketball. These players contribute immediately. These players are ranked against each other based on years of summer ball. The rankings, by in large, reflect where they truly stand against everyone in the class. Sure, I don't know how these guys are going to be. But on paper it's the best class we've ever had.

3. It's a contrived statement on this board but the fact that this thread is filled with largely negative comments from opposing fanbases is a mere attempt to marginalize what our coach has done in a short amount of time.

4. We will be good and we will challenge for the SEC title next year. Whether that happens remains to be seen but we're going to be a very improved next year, and we weren't half bad this year.

I think he was looking at a 6-figure contract to play overseas. Glad he's coming back. He, Hickey, Stringer and Coleman will provide solid leadership for the top ten class coming in.
