The difference is AJ was red-shirting that season. Its actually similar to Del Rio in that regard. Saban said a few weeks ago that Del Rio was #3 but isn't getting snaps because he is redshirting.

Actually you guys are saying the same thing. They are redshirting the best backup but they would pull the shirt to win a game. How can anyone who has watched the last two A Days or warmups/practice videos see that Sims could ever be a capable passer?

True. I was mainly pointing out that the 2nd stringer isn't necessarily the 2nd best QB on roster.

Sims may be better but this statement is not entirely true. In 2009 Star Jackson got the backup snaps even though McCarron would have replaced McElroy if he had gotten injured. Coach Saban almost put McCarron in against LSU that year. If McElroy couldn't have played against Texas it would have been McCarron. So because Sims is playing now means nothing going into next year.

It means everything when talking about Morris. There is ZERO comparison between Morris and Sims to the McCarron and Star Jackson issue, because Morris has already redshirted.

The only reason AJ wasn't playing in 2009 was to keep a redshirt. Morris isn't playing because he sucks, and Sims is better.

He plays Sims because he obeys and hands it off, and knows the PB and calls

If we needed a win, were in a crunch etc it'd be Morris who would come in if AJ absolutely couldn't play

So looks like KY is getting the second weekend in Dec visit for Elam. According to BOL, his OV could come later in the process, which I assume would be after he commits.

Charles Power talked with Steve Wiltfong, a national writer who typically covers ND. He said that the ND side believes Bama leads but that ND is the biggest threat. CP still feels Bama leads

That wasn't my argument. My argument was with the notion that Sims is our second best QB on the roster. Our second best QB is redshirting this year be it Cooper or Del Rio.

I don't disagree with that. You quoting a post talking about the Sims/Morris dynamic seemed to suggest you were implying it there.

yep, because he is a statue and seen at USC/Washington the Sarkisian/Nuss system likes a QB to at least have pocket mobility and be able to throw on the move. Morris struggled at A-day when pressure forced him to reset his feet.

I probably should have just quoted the first part referring to Sims being the second best QB. It's all good.

He's also just not any good.

There was a reason why his only other offers were from two terrible programs.

I love this in depth professional analysis. Morris showed in Aday he was the 2nd best QB. He was a Chris Black drop away from winning the game. He has a tremendous arm and made good decisions. As to system fit I can not truly say, but I would rather have him than Sims.

And our coaching staff obviously disagrees with you. There's a reason why he hasn't taken a single snap all year.

What is the Raekwon McMillan update?

I don't agree with Morris being immobile/statue. He's not the most athletic of QBs but he's more athletic than you would think looking at him standing on the sidelines. His high school ran QB draws with him quite a bit. He's not going to outrun anyone on a zone read, but neither will AJ.

He's not afraid of competition but also wants to play early. Looking at possibly making a decision in mid Dec
