Haven't seen this posted but UK basketball fans are probably some of the best fans I have seen.
The standing ovation they gave Elston Turner as he left the floor Saturday was all class. A huge difference from the way our players were treated on the road in our previous conference.
Much different from having trash thrown at us and getting kicked by cheer leaders during loose balls at Baylor.

They're, far and away, the most knowledgeable, too...a very impressive group! When UK comes to your arena, strike up a conversation with one of them and you'll see what I'm talking about (they won't be hard to identify...and there'll be a bunch of them!)

He was 5 points away from the best performance ever in Rupp Arena (David Robinson holds that record at 45). We hate to see our team lose but can appreciate that kind of performance. I think the last one I saw like that in person was when we played UAB at Freedom Hall in Louisville a few years back and Vaden put up 35+.
Good luck to you all the rest of the season.

Indeed, KY fans are very informative about the game of BB, and they are all class unless you wear orange. I love the Lexington/Frankfort area and would recommend it to any traveler.

I not only stood up with my son to applaud the effort and exhibition of skill, but got him to sign the program too.
Hate losing, but love to seee good basketball.

I have tickets to that game, it is part of the season mini package I bought.
I look forward to it, I saw several games at Reed with Kansas fans all around, I can sympathize with the Mizzou fans in their hate for the Jayhawks, most obnoxious bunch of yahoos I have ever seen in a basketball arena.
I just about took a swing at one guy who was yelling obscenities at an couple that must have been 60+ because they were leaving early after it became evident we would lose.

We've got idiots as well. Our poster that just got a timeout was the only really bad one on here. Turner was great this weekend. Good for him. That will be a story that he tells his grandkids.

I also stood to applaud and wasn't even that mad about the loss. When you see a performance like Turner had, it's hard not to be impressed and entertained.
Great kid, and hope he can find a spot at the next level.

I've got a buddy who is from Kentucky and a huge UK fan. He knows more about basketball than anyone I've ever met. He watches games like a referee and usually makes calls before they do.

That's the only school in SEC that lives, sleeps, and is basketball crazy 365 days a year.
